She said "fisk" which means any point-by-point (attempt at) refutation of the other guy's argument. That's hardly unhinged.

Tom Seleck aka Richard and Magnum, PI is a card carrying member. I loved Richard. But not if he belongs to the NRA.

She said "fisk" which means any point-by-point (attempt at) refutation of the other guy's argument. That's hardly unhinged. Yes, I'm sure the confusion between that and "fist" was totally unintentional, given the prominent use of the word fist in the last ad and the fact that fisk is not a word in wide usage. Taking a page from Trump's book of plausible deniability. Even without the word, the tone and message are distinctly threatening, particularly when you consider that the messagers always make a big deal out of being armed. If threatening the free press in that tone and manner isn't unhinged to you, we have distinctly different definitions of the word.

What's hilarious (and so totally typical and hypocritical of the unhinged conservatives) is that they are not tolerant of those who have a different viewpoint than theirs. It's THEY who determine what is TRUTH and right from wrong and they, by God, are going to cram it down everyone else's' throats whether you like it or not, making threats (typical unhinged conservative motive) and dammit, they WIL BE listened to and obeyed, because you know, they have guns and stuff!

Well, the NRA has to do SOMETHING to get attention because they can't cry, "Trump is going to get your guns" the way they did with Obabma for 8 years.
I also saw that gun sales are down now that the perceived threat is gone.

That woman is definitely unhinged. R's have the presidency, Congress, and majority of governorships. They have a strong media presence. But that's not enough, apparently. They dislike reporting when it reveals the slimy underbelly of their leader, who cannot stop tweeting or talking.
I heard Limbaugh complaining the Trump's agenda is being thwarted, and he's angry about it. What a hypocrite! He chortled about R's obstructing Obama. It's only bad when it affects what he wants, I guess.
Honestly, they have everything, and they are still complaining. I guess that they want the rest of us to fall in line. Not gonna happen, Trumpsters. Not now, not ever.

Not gonna happen, Trumpsters. Not now, not ever. There are many NRA members who are outraged with these ads. Most can see that they are just pandering to Trumps base and to keep inciting them and ensuring that division is always there. When you think about it, there isn't much press on the 2nd Amendment right now, so the NRA is trying to keep a fire lit to stay relevant.

It's really good marketing. Fire up the Trump people - the evil liberals need to be killed! You need a gun!
Fire up the liberals - the Trumpists want to kill you! You need a gun to protect yourself!
End results - twice as many people 'needing' guns = twice as many possible gun sales.

End results - twice as many people 'needing' guns = twice as many possible gun sales. Never forget the NRA is largely a gun manufacturers lobby co-opted from and masquerading as a gun owners group. "In its early days, the National Rifle Association was a grassroots social club that prided itself on independence from corporate influence. While that is still part of the organization's core function, today less than half of the NRA's revenues come from program fees and membership dues. The bulk of the group's money now comes in the form of contributions, grants, royalty income, and advertising, much of it originating from gun industry sources." www.businessinsider.com/gun-industry-funds-nra-2013-1

It's comical. It's ridiculous. All this anger over a newspaper. They (both Trump and the NRA) wouldn't be so mad if the NYT wasn't speaking the truth...

"Democrat overlords"...whatintheactualfuck? Does she not realize that plenty of democrats own guns and are members of NRA? This is the thing that baffles me. I do know a good number of pretty liberalish democrats who own guns for a variety of reasons-hunting, sport, home protection...whatever. Ads like the ones that the NRA are putting out do nothing but alienate those that are not opposed to gun ownership and also believe in sensible ownership regulations. They are more worried about being lumped in with the crazies. I have told this story before but not too that long ago my whole family was hanging around my mom's kitchen. We are, for the most part, a pretty liberal group. And as we were all sitting around stuffing our faces with the bounty that is my mom's cooking, we had a 20 minute discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of various guns for home protection. We are a-okay with the guns, and we are a-okay with sensible rules regulating that ownership. We were not afraid President Obama would take them away, we are not ready to defend ourselves from "THE FEDS." We may want a gun for home protection, we may want a gun for target shooting, we may want a gun for hunting...and we are the ones that are really not okay with ads like these because ultimately what it does is deepen the divide between the sides making it so no one is ever able to sit at the same table and serious discussions about what we have in common rather than what we don't.

I'm guessing and willing to bet that the gun suppliers, shop owners, dealers are all boo-hoping to the NRA demanding that they "do something" to help better their sales.

Care to explain @mytnice why Trump did it, with family approval in the background, at his inauguration.

If someone can't see that NRA is coming across as unhinged in that ad, then they are blind and it's not worth it to engage them over this.

Care to explain @mytnice why Trump did it, with family approval in the background, at his inauguration. It's a classic symbol/gesture for "power" and/or "resistance". And despite the objection that the Resist Movement is using it, they are. Google for yourself if you need to, but to call it bullshit is completely irrational. Adam Lambert

It's absolutely astonishing that some of you just. can. not. fathom. anyone seeing it differently than you do and not being wrong. That you just can not fathom that your opinion is not the only correct opinion. Or that you might even be wrong.

It’s the way she’s doing it. The words that have been chosen, the tone of her voice and so on. She comes across as unstable and potentially violent. I’d say the same about anyone - including someone speaking about an opinion I strongly supported - that spoke like this and selected incendiary language like this.
