I miss the zillion posts. I miss the inspiration. I miss the hype around new product launches.
I guess I just miss what scrapbooking "used to be".
That is all. Just feeling sad tonight.

I do miss the hype around new product launches but it actually died down compared to how it was during the height of scrapbooking popularity in the early 2000's anyway.

Awww. I'm sorry you are feeling sad tonight.
(((( Hugs ))))
I get missing the huge hype around new lines and the excitement.
But I gotta say, I truly love the Refupeas. Love that we can say what we want. Love that there is none of that Garden Girl ass kissery here.
I hope you can find the excitement you are missing.

I have got to figure out how to use the gallery here. I think that's what I'm missing the most about the old two peas.

mamakoala, I hope you soon feel more at home here. I really appreciate all of the discussions on so many different topics, and if any of us want to get some kind of activity started it is as easy as starting a thread. One reason I like this place is the lack of hype about new products: I spent WAY too much money on a site before this b/c I just HAD to have the newest buzz item. nicolep and others keep us pretty up to date with new releases, and then I can go to a particular manufacturer's site if I really want a closer look at something. jeremysgirl and @zingermack, HERE are the instructions for using the Gallery. To summarize: First you need a Flickr account, and once you register there you can start uploading photos of your projects to your photostream. Then you just need to ask admin for admission to the 2peasrefugees group. When you get that, you are good to add your projects to the Gallery. Would love to see your creations!

Hmmm, my post count here shows where my heart lies- and where it became comfortable.
I miss the energy of the hobby years ago. But I do not miss some of the attitudes attached to it. The drama, the women trying to make a name for themselves by posting to raise their visibility. Even here it's obvious when someone suddenly pops in to be friends just as a publication comes out.
TwoPeas owners should have recognized the message board was their real service and changed their business goals but they didn't. It's sad, but I also lack sympathy for those who demanded they (Peas) should make the rules for the Board, and pouted or left because they couldn't.
Well, I didn't expect my rambling thoughts to go there. This is a much more positive place. I love, am addicted to RefuPeas. Give us a chance. Despite my complaint in this post we are a fun group!

Is it possible that you are missing the level of activity and popularity that the scrapbooking industry had in its' heyday? I would think that's what might be missing but not the actual old board itself.
I much prefer the refupeas board because here the posters aren't afraid to speak and share: this is where differences of opinion are better tolerated, and there's not so much of the wannabe pseudo-celebrity scrappers trying to openly manipulate others to "build their brand" or whatever it's called. There's been a few wannabes but they fall by the wayside quickly, thank goodness.
Scrapbooking as a hobby (in general) has fallen out of favor. I'm so glad we have this board for those of us who still scrap. I truly appreciate this place and wouldn't change a thing. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Oh my! i hope it didn't sound like I don't REALLY enjoy Refupeas--I do!! And I am so grateful for it. And you're right--I don't miss the drama or the competitiveness--that really wore me down after a while. I got way too into getting published and "winning" spots on teams and such. So I am going to focus on the positive...and learn how to use the darn gallery!!! I feel better today--i have been a bit sick with a flare of a chronic disease and am determined not to let it get me down today!

I prefer this msg board though the other was too busy.

I'm with you. And I'll (once again) throw in how much I miss Archiver's too. I miss the excitement for scrapping, the gallery, events and shopping on the old 2peas, all rolled into one website. Although I don't miss the mega-dramas and the troll members. Refupeas are much more respectful!

So just a thought. Perhaps we should all post more of our layouts here to share. Not sure if the pictures would use up too much memory (or whatever for a Proboard), but I love seeing other people's layouts when they post them on a thread.

I agree with 950nancy. I have no idea how to use the gallery. But I know how to upload photos to a thread from my phone in the Tapatalk app. I was hoping with the thread I started yesterday that people would post what they were working on this weekend. I'll go back to that thread and post what I made

I miss what scrapbooking used to be. I was fairly invisible on the old 2peas but here I post often. I never went to the gallery before and should go to this one more often.
I liked both places, but I'm always happy when people find the new board and start posting. Some of us are good about posting new releases.
This board isn't as fast paced as the old board but it does feel a bit more comfortable.

I was just thinking the other day how I miss the gallery. I know there is a gallery here, but it is just not the same.
I also miss:
Jamie Warehouse walk videos Kitty and that other girl that moved away. What the peanut ordered videos. The badges We used to have regular stamping "fests" on the stamping board. Those were always fun.

I'm in the minority here but I really don't miss 2Peas all that much. I do like that the board was very active but then again it took more time to follow it. On the original board there was some scrap snobbery and cliqueiness. People here tend to be helpful and supportive. We're also free to discuss all the online and B&M stores we want as well as any other craft topics of interest. Even NSRB here seems to have less trolls.
I'm another one who needs to learn the gallery. I go over to Scrapbook.com sometimes but I'd really rather see layouts and cards done by the people I'm chatting with.

I absolutely miss what it used to be too!!! So badly! I miss going into stores and seeing scrapbooking magazines. I also miss the fresh excitement and not being able to wait to get home from work and scrap a handful of freshly printed photos with the small selection of paper and embellishments I had managed to acquire.

I miss the videos from the Garden Girls. I miss that too but I've found plenty of great inspiration on youtube to make up for it. I always loved how quickly the boards moved but I'm extremely grateful for this board and all the wonderful peas on it.

As far the new product launches, I remember that years ago we would have some many new products or tools. The last few years not so much. I think scrapbooking has been a decline for a few years now. The new trend is traveler's notebooks, planners and journaling. Bible journaling is quite the rage in many areas. I myself have been bible journaling more than scrapbooking. Easier for me to quickly do a page than to got get photos printed, paper picked out, etc.
I lost the board for a long time and I am happy to be back. I do wish we had more enabling. I remember reading at 2 peas and taking advantage of the great sales.

I miss the enabling, but I think the lack of it comes more from the decline of the industry than the lack of the old boards.
Personally I like these boards 1000x better. Its different and I can't put my finger on why. I post here and participate here much more than I did on the other boards.
