How do you store your paper? I store mine horizontally. I'm worried that storing vertically in magazine holders could cause the papers to bow a bit. Im considering my options when redoing my scrap room.

Mine is vertical in either the Cropper Hopper easy access paper holder or their paper holders. Bending is not a problem; all of them are at least 1/2 full and I find it much easier to pull individual sheets in vertical storage. My 8.5x11 cardstock is in magazine holders on their side so I can just pull paper directly out.
If I were to do any horizontal storage, I would probably get some of the Stamp 'n Storage units that would fit into my Kallax.
As you start planning, check Pinterest and YouTube videos. There is a ton of craft room inspiration out there!

It looks like it would be cheaper in the long run to store the paper vertically.

I have 21 12x12 plastic drawers full of card stock. With a few drawers and boxes and iris cases full of paper. This doesn't include my card bases and a ream of Neenah solar white card stock. My plastic tower of paper holders is starting to lean. If we had an earth quake it would fall over. What huge mess that would be. I think I need to purge but I'm worried as soon as I do that I will need it. Thank goodness I think I have a decent amount of embellies but not over the top like my paper. I'm trying to build up my thin let dies and stamps. I don't have a lot of those or non mounted stamps. I have a fair amount of ink. I never got into mixed media too much. I might have a couple of drawers. There is other stuff too numerous too count. Geez this got to be the most expensive room in the house.

All my paper is vertical - card making letter size in magazine racks and 12x12 in plastic containers or else in kits in large zip pockets. I haven't had any warping issues.

Most of my papers are in pads, and I store them vertically, no problem.
My loose papers are also stored vertically, in a cropper hopper.
I haven't had problems with the papers getting messed up.

Unless it's in an IRIS case with a kit (either subscription or home made) I store all my paper vertically in Expedit units and I don't have any problems. Ironically, I had issues with the IRIS case kits when I stored them vertically so now I flip the boxes horizontally in the cubes and no more wrinkles/damage.

I store mine vertically as well. I made some magazine files out of 12x12 boxes from when I used to sub to SC. I covered them in duct tape to make them more durable and think they turned out really good. They fit in my IKEA Kallax unit perfectly.

I store my paper pads vertically on one of my bookshelves and store my cardstock and all my scraps in 12x12 Iris boxes. (I don't have all that much cardstock any more; it all fits in one 12x12 Iris case.) Any patterned paper 'pairs' are stored in 12x12 Iris cases, but I don't have that much-- it all fits into two Iris cases. They don't fit in my cube storage, so I just stack them on one bookshelf.

I store mine in four different closets. Ha! It is hard for my husband to tell how much I really have if it is spread out. I store it vertically and most of it is in a storage cube to protect it.

My paper is stored vertically in 12x12 envelopes by theme or by collection. My cardstock is in hanging folders. I haven't had any problems at all. Well, other than having too much to fit in my armoire, but that's another issue!

I seriously need to sort out all the colors I know I won't use and donate them. I have whole draw full of green and most of it I know I won't use. I've bought card stock packs st Tuesday morning they sandwich all the ugly colors in the middle. I'm going to get rid of those.

In my room
All un-cut paper (solid and patterned) is stored vertically. 8.5x11 in magazine holders and 12x12 in cropper hopper paper holders.
Solid scraps are sorted by color, in Totally Tiffany 12x12 pockets, in an Iris 12x12 box horizontally. Patterned paper scraps are stored loose in an Iris 12x12.
6x6 paper pads are stored in a clear FridgeBinz.

I love the Cropper Hopper storage sysrem. Paper stores best in the narrow holders. It can bend in the wider holder whereas cardstock is heavier and stands up better.

Mine are vertical in metal bins at the end of my long u-shaped desk area. They are sorted by manufacturer. I have another rolling bin under my desk with the solid cardstock. I have more bins in the cupboard with the less used holiday papers. I love being able to stand and leaf through paper. The paper doesn't bow permanently nor do they get wrinkled.

Horizontal in wooden paper trays from Hobby Lobby that I bought with coupons over time till I had enough. Before that, I stored my paper in Art Bins and Iris cases that I kept on shoe shelves. I liked that I could use a Sharpie to write what was in the containers, such as Christmas, family, Graphic 45, metallic, or whatever type paper was in each.
Sadly, the shoe shelves started sagging eventually due to the weight of the paper, which is why I switched to the wooden 5 shelf paper trays. They can be either horizontal or vertical. When I stored my paper vertically, it tended to warp more over time, unless it was packed tight. If packed tight, it kind of defeated the purpose of storing vertically. I still couldn't easily see what was there.

I also got rid of all my DCWV cardstock. It doesn't die cut well and has a weird texture I don't care for. I donated it to the local elementary school.

I sort individual papers vertically in hanging folders. Paper pads are also vertical but they go in my Expedit. Scraps are sorted horizontally in paper trays.
I might have too much paper. LOL.

I store my vertically,in a Marbig Stor-a-file. It sits on top of my 4 x 4 expedit, so it is the perfect height to stand in front of and choose my paper. I keep collections together in zip lock bags. It was the cheapest paper storage solution I could find and this has been the best system for me. It is full, as I don't have a great amount of patterned paper.

My 12x12 is vertical and my 8.5x11 is horizontal in a literature holder. I have one other cube below, but didn't get it in the photo. I also have 12x12 cs on a shelf in the magazine styled holders. when I Redo my room which won't be for a few years but I'll always keep my 12x12 card stock and paper vertical. Are used to keep it horizontal and I found it cumbersome to go through I have to pull the whole pile out to search for something now I can easily flip through without removing the stack. The only thing I hope to change is I'd like them on pull out shelves in a close cabinet.

HUSH!!! There is No Such Thing! (as too much paper, I mean...) I have 1 cropper hopper-like holder (can't remember the brand) and 1 and 1/2 baskets in my expedit that stores cardstock, scraps, and pattern paper scraps. I've told myself once the baskets are full, some has to be thrown away! BUT I use a lot of neutral cardstock, especially white and that vertical holder is full.

I keep all my paper horizontally in a drawer unit. I don't have a super large stash so I don't mind pulling it all out to flip through it when I'm selecting papers for a project.

I store my paper horizontally for the most part. I have a wire rack I bought from a closing store and a couple homemade ones my husband made for me using two IKEA kitchen cabinets and a ton of squares cut from thin panelling. I got that idea from this website. clarks.smugmug.com/Hobbies/Craft-Room/i-99HtC7q/AI have recently done a paper purge and I am getting rid of a two foot high stack of paper. My stash was out of control.
