I loved all of them, especially Candace Olson and Decorating Cents. I guess the low expense of following real estate agents around with a camera won out over actual productions. I miss HGTV...

Haha, my daughter and I were just talking last night about how stupid and useless pergolas are. If they aren't put into use, yes they would be useless. But they originated for a place to give vining plants a support, like wisteria. My parents use theirs to hang potted plants. It provides an additional shade to the end of their patio. Yes, they are both stunning and helpful in terms of shade when used as they are intended. Save

I am so tired of seeing people buy old homes so that they can tear out most of the walls to make it a modern open concept home. I get it...sometimes the old homes wouldn't sell otherwise, and then they'd be torn down. Plus, this is how some people are able to purchase the size home they need/want or in the location they need/want, but it still makes me sad and twitchy.
And I am extremely sick of nearly every house in every reno or flip type home looking exactly the same. OMGosh--why does everyone want their house to look just like their neighbors' houses--both indoors and out?? i just don't get it.
Whenever I see a house done in a different way I'm thrilled---even if I hate it, LOL!
Sometimes DH & I would watch House Hunters International to try to see something different, but more and more the people are constantly looking for something "Americanized" or "more Western". Ugh.

Color splash was one of my favorites. David was so charming and talented on Design Star and I was so glad his show reflected him so well. My ex dh worked with him later on a side project and I was so jealous and giddy that ex honestly thought he'd probably dislike David. He came back a fan, and then David sent everyone from the project one of his paintings. He is honestly a really giving and sweet person.

I loved the show "Lofty Ideas".
I like one room, studio style living or unique type places(Candy shoppe, lighthouse, etc.. turned into a home) and that show featured some great places.

I have an old school friend who had an early decorating show on HGTV called "Decorating with Style", it ran for five years or so starting in 1996. I always enjoyed her simple, easy to do decorating projects. They weren't always my taste, but it was fun to watch!
