For those of you that workout.....Do you do daily aerobics? When you strength train do you get cardio in on the same day? I workout in the mornings each day. Every other day I will do aerobics. On off aerobics days I do my strength training routine. On strength days I still try to get cardio in. On the days I strength train my cardio is after work. I will rollerblade, take a spin class or even a water aerobics class. There are times when I can't get back after work. I do feel guilty about it.
So..please share your strength/cardio routine!

My strength training is my cardio. I literally lift weights faster (while keeping good form) to get my heart rate up and get cardio benefits.

I never thought about that. My heart rate does rise when I doing some of the routine. My heart rate isn't raised throughout my whole routine. So, it wouldn't count as a cardio workout.

I plan my rotation in advance so I can move seamlessly from one lift to the next and keep my heart rate steady. It does drop a wee bit, per my heart rate monitor, but stays in my target zone.

Most of my workouts are interval based - so I get a mixture of cardio and strength every time. If I do happen to do a workout that's primarily strength based (like BodyPump), then I'll tack on an extra 30 minutes of straight cardio that day - spin or treadmill.

I do a 30 minute workout made up of usually 3 circuits that I do 3 times each. One of those usually has some cardio element, like squats, step ups on the aerobics step or bench, lunges, combined with weights. I have also been adding in a tabata type treadmill circuit-walk to 1 minute, then run for 20 seconds, hop off for 10, back on for 20 to run for a total of 7 minutes.
After that, I do 30 minutes on an elliptical.

I mostly do HIIT, so I get cardio and strength at the same time. I try to keep my work outs under an hour. If I have an off day or one that's very strength focused I'll tack on some jump roping or a quick power walk.

I ignore cardio. It's pretty unnecessary in my world. (Other than nice walks that I enjoy.) Weights changed my body like nothing else has. No need for any really strenuous cardio anymore. (Probably not the answer you wanted haha!

Body weight strength training on M,W,F and running on T,Th,Sa for me. Sometimes I make my strength training more of a HIIT workout with jumping jacks, burpees, running up & down the stairs, etc ... But mostly it's things like squats, planks, push-ups, tricep dips, bicycle crunches, lunges, leg lifts.

I just bought, and completed phase one, the book "New Rules of Lifting" for women. The author goes into detail about why you really don't need to add cardio to your weight lifting regime. Another friend, with a kick ass body at 50, said if your heart rate isn't elevated while lifting you're doing it wrong.

I read a book called the Cardio Free Diet. The idea is if you lift weights the right way, 30 minutes of consecutive movement, not stopping between sets, then your heart rate will be elevated and you will lose weight on their plan.
I lift weights 5 days a week after my cardio, but do opposing muscle groups on each day.
