spoilers likely Just got back from seeing The Glass Castle and really enjoyed it. There were a few things that they changed from the book but overall the movie was done really well. The acting was outstanding. The casting was spot on and Woody Harrelson was fantastic. Slight spoiler......
My only beef was that I wish there had been a few more scenes in the movie that showed just how starving the kids were and how Janette had to go through the trash at school looking for food.
Defiantly a must watch and a good book to movie adaptation. Jen

I usually avoid movies made from books I loved, but I'll probably go see this one. It's a story worth telling in any form.

I read the book and remember being so pissed at the parents. I doubt I will see the movie.

My only beef was that I wish there had been a few more scenes in the movie that showed just how starving the kids were and how Janette had to go through the trash at school looking for food. I agree. I distinctly remember them actually living for a bit longer in Nevada. As well as in Arizona in an old adobe home. None of that was shown. I was hoping they would show the friend she made (West Virginia) who had a normal home and how they caught on to how bad conditions were for her. Woody Harrelson was amazing and I didn't recognize Brie Larson! I was hoping they would say more at the end of the movie how her and her siblings were doing and their accomplishments. This does not have to do with the movie, but I thought her youngest sister is no longer in contact with the family?
