I came across t his quick video about where I live. The Palo Duro Canyon is literally in my backyard. The rest of Texas has big trees, green grass, but here? Here it is dry, and instead of green we have colors of rust, gold, brown. Whats it like where you live?

Gentle rolling hills with green grass, lots of mature trees and wildlife. My back yard looks just like a park. From the top of the hill in my back yard, I can't see any of my neighbor's houses in any direction.

My ex is from Tulia! Palo Duro Canyon is really beautiful. I absolutely love the Palo Duro Canyon. It's so beautiful in it's muted-ness. I enjoy going to Tulia. There is a painter there that I collect some of his work. His name is Kenneth Wyatt - you can see his work here. While not everyone will love his subject matter (cowboys, farms, churches, etc) I could look at his work all day long.

Love Palo Duro Canyon--have visited it twice.
I live in a suburb of Dallas. Nice creek view, but nothing like what you have.

I live about 300 miles south of you and we love Palo duro canyon, too. We stayed in one of those little cabins and had a great time and we've also been to the play and your museum. This is my town. I love our river. It has been improved a lot with sales tax money the last few years and it is beautiful. My church is on the banks and I go early and walk and take pictures every Sunday. Very short Video of my town: youtu.be/Amdbeb1CC1Y

Garden of the Gods is one of my most favorite places! It's so beautiful. We have avoided it much of the summer. So packed with tourists. Will be anxious to start going for more walks there once September hits.

Right now it's a deep green with pretty trees, but in a few weeks we'll welcome the splendor of Fall, with red and orange leaves here in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee. We have rivers and lakes, and some beautiful farmsteads are close by.

My grandfather took my sister and me to Palo Duro Canyon to see "Texas!" every summer while we were growing up. I grew up in a small town about 90 miles southwest of you where the land is flat, trees are sparse, the sky is big, and you can see for miles. It is beautiful. I now live in the road construction nightmare of the city. I've lived here for 30+ years. The more crowded it becomes, the more I hate it. However, this is where my job is. I would love to move back to the Panhandle after I retire, but I'm not sure DH will agree to it.

Palo Duro was a vacation stop at least once a year (some years 2-3 times) since it was close to home. I grew up in the Oklahoma panhandle. It is a beautiful big secret.

DH and I lived in Amarillo when we were first married 30 years ago so I have been to Palo Duro Canyon many times. We still joke about the"Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River" because it was so fun to say.

I am always surprised when people say they came through this area and have no idea that the canyons are here. To me, its the best part of where we live!

Alpine is a must stop for me. I love Alpine and I continue down the highway towards Study Butte and then hang a right to go to Lajitas and Terlingua. Beautiful country down there.
