my girls went back to school this morning and I'm alternating between scrapbooking and housework.
So far I've deep-cleaned DD17's room including cleaning the carpets, done dishes, and made laundry progress.
scrapbook progress? 1. single page layout 4th grade Christmas party

sorry nicolep - I'm fortunate enough to be a sahm even with all my kids in school. more laundry, cleaned DD10's room except for the Lego (she can pick that up afterschool), got DH to fix her dresser (he's playing hooky) and I re-organised it, cleaned and vacuumed the family room, emptied the to-be-shredded pile, sewed badges on DD10's vest, and cleaned out the fridge layout #2 - 1 page Parish Christmas Party about to do layout #3 and then a little more housework before I have to go to the bus stop

YAY for you!! You're being extremely productive!! Enjoy your time scrapbooking! I'm so jealous.. I've been house sitting and puppy sitting for my DD since Thursday. I am so missing my scrapbook room and scrapping time. That's all that's on my agenda for tomorrow (besides a yoga class).

Yay, linda! You are getting a LOT done in both departments! It would take me all day to do that much housework, and then I would need a nap! I remember those precious days when I was younger and home alone... (I worked at a college whose school year was a little shorter than my kids') In a week I could deep clean this whole house top to bottom, closets and basement and all. Now it seems like one closet takes longer than a day... I did very little today. Giving myself a rest after the family reunion. I did go through the scrapbook the participants put together, sorted it into birth order of the "senior generation", and then put together a few simple pages with photos I had already printed but that no one got a chance to scrap while there.

refugeepea - enjoy your naps next week! Monday was a good day productivity-wise, Tuesday wasn't - working on making today a good one. So far I've done laundry, picked up the house, and finished a 2-page layout (decorating the tree). Next up is dishes and another layout

Wow, back to school already? We're still on summer holidays here in the UK, school starts at the beginning of September. and to make it more confusing, different areas and schools all start on different days! I have got nothing done the past few days And I can't blame kids, haven't got any. Or pets, haven't got any.

jane - I'm in the Southern part of the States and school let out June 2nd and term started Aug 14th. When I lived in the Northeast - school let out late June but the new term didn't start until after Labour Day (1st Monday in September)

Wow, back to school already? We're still on summer holidays here in the UK, school starts at the beginning of September. and to make it more confusing, different areas and schools all start on different days! That's how it is with my kids. It seems like most states allow districts to set their own calendar, which I love! There are a few that mandate it starts after Labor Day. I like that we have a chance of not too hot of weather in June compared to the high 90's for most of July and August. We live in a rural area and most of the bus drivers are farmers. We start later than most schools. I'm in the Southern part of the States and school let out June 2nd and term started Aug 14th. When I lived in the Northeast - school let out late June but the new term didn't start until after Labour Day (1st Monday in September) To make it even more confusing, we get out around the same time but start about 2 weeks later. We have very few breaks during the school year.

When I lived in the Northeast - school let out late June but the new term didn't start until after Labour Day (1st Monday in September) I remember growing up and getting three full months off. First week in June to the first week in September. Our school days were also only 6 hours 9-3. We got two weeks at Christmas and two days for Thanksgiving and then Easter weekend I think we got Friday off. Summers were glorious!
