I cant believe I bought this item This was way over priced to make matters worse I didn't read the whole description so I only got half of the kit. I'm so embarrassed and mad at myself. I got caught up with winning and I didn't really take the time to think it through. It's too late to change my mind now it's bought and payed for. I'm not even looking forward to this purchase. I'll want to throw it under the bed and try to forget about it. It will be a constant reminder of my stupidity. This has got to be one of the most foolish purchases I've made off of eBay for me. Ughhh. I can't get it off my mind. I thought about reselling it on eBay but I have no idea how to do that. Sorry I had to get this off my chest. I've been mulling this over for 3 days now.

I'm so sorry! Buyer's remorse can be sickening. Maybe you can schedule some time to play with your item - make sure you USE it. That way, it won't be a waste.

I think many of us have had something similar happen. I know I have and it's awful. I agree with the above post. Try to get some use out of it. If it really bothers you donate the item and don't look back.

Be kind to yourself. Live and learn. Accept it, and/or write it down, like you did here, and let it go. We all do ugh! things sometimes.

Step one: Forgive yourself. I am pretty sure most of us have done this. Some more than once. Step Two: Use it get your money out of it even if you don't think you can. Step Three: Remember in a few months you won't even remember doing this.
Have you seen the people who bought furniture for a low price and when they get it, it is doll's furniture? Now that would be awful!
ETA: Step Four: Tell us what you bought. You don't even have to mention a price. Maybe someone has a creative use/idea for it.

Don't feel bad. I do this everytime I try to organize my "overwhelming to me stash" and cringe when i think about all the money spent on those things I no longer care for. We all do it and not just with scrappy purchases. if you hate it now, maybe break it apart and store it with the rest of your stash...maybe seeing just one little part of the kit a month down the road won't sting as much. I bought a new Mac laptop just to use with my new Silhouette a few years ago and have used both probably less than 15 times since. I hate using the computer and also got really discouraged when i messed up a brand new blade cutting into thick glitter cardstock one December and didnt touch either for nearly 2 years. But last month, my friend was throwing a party and needed a specific cake topper. I volunteered to take on the challenge of doing so with my Silhouette and wouldn't you know, it worked like a charm, and i cant wait to use it again once I get my MIL out of my guestroom/scrap space.

We have all done that at one time or another. Don't feel so badly.
If it makes you sad to even have it, list it for sale on the For Sale & Trade section here.
Or if you do want to get your money's worth with it, use the heck out of it.
I'm sorry you are feeling badly about it.

Been there, done that. I have two items that I do a WTH were you thinking when I see them. One of them is that Zyron machine that's as big as a car. It lives under the bed in the spare room, I think I've used it twice. So, it's really okay. It's not like you did something and we now have to help you hide the body. I hope you're successful in reselling it. And yes, now you do have to show us what it is.

Stop beating yourself up over it. Does it really matter in the whole of your life?
We have all done similar things. I had to have an antique stereoscope years ago. I was going to collect the slides. I maybe bought a dozen, then the thing went in a box. I recently donated it to a mission thrift shop. I felt stupid about that purchase, because it was taking up space in my house. Once I donated it, I felt free of it. Maybe that is the solution - get rid of it.

Suffice to say a scrappy item that was 5 tines the original cost. I could almost have bought a new kalax system for that.

Can you use it at all with what you got? If so, I'd use it. If not, I'd relist it on eBay, dump it for whatever you can get back out of it and move on. No sense wasting time feeling bad over something everyone has done at some point in time.

Can you mentally offset the amount you over paid for this item with other things you got at a discount? Or resell it when it arrives...if you paid too much maybe someone else will pay more.

If you're not going to use it, I'd get rid of it so you don't have the constant reminder. I've done that with a piece of furniture. I was so much happier when I got rid of it and didn't have to see it every day.

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but several years ago, when the first electronic cutter was made available in the U.S., I agonized over whether or not to buy it. The price tag: $700. It would be cheaper than continuing to buy alphabet dies, so I finally bought it. Less than 6 weeks later, they got bought by another company, and the price dropped to $400. I missed the cutoff for getting a refund by 6 days. They sent me a "free" xyron instead, which I have never used.
We all have buyer's remorse at some point. In your case,it sounds like you bought a partial kit that is no longer available. I have noticed that when something is "retired" or no longer available, that the price jumps dramatically.
I was really upset about having paid $300 more for my first electronic cutter than those who bought it a week later. However, I decided the best thing I could do was to use the machine to make money. I designed projects using my machine and taught classes at the LSS. I made more with the machine than that $300 I had overpaid.
Perhaps you can do something similar. Since you no longer want to use the items to make any layouts for yourself, can you use them to make one or more layouts or a mini album that you can sell? Completed layouts and mini albums should sell for more than the materials. Maybe you can get rid of the materials and recover your cost that way? You may not make enough to cover your time, but at least the materials wouldn't be there to upset you. If you don't think that is feasible, then I would separate the components to the point they can be used with other things, so they are less recognizable or as likely to remind you.

Oh I'm there with you. I bought the WRMK sewing machine and don't like it at all and can't return it. It makes a nice decoration in my vacation craft room. Like others, this isn't the first time for me and I'm sure it won't be the last. Right now I'm trying to stay away from pre-orders.

I got it today way ahead of schedule. I'm just going to make it work. I'm sure I gave something similar that have been removed. Alt least I lost a bid on anther similar item. I dodged that bullet.

We really do all have buyer's remorse a time or two. I bought a very large, rather expensive kit, that I was on the fence about because it was out of my comfort zone and I had some similar papers collecting dust at home. But, that said, there were a few must have pieces in it for me, so I added it to my cart, along with a few other things. I wasn't paying particular attention when I did the check out as I was on the phone at the time, but when I saw the paypal deduction from my account I nearly choked...the bill itself and the international shipping were astronomical. It turns out that I added the expensive kit to my cart not once, but twice. I felt awful about it for a good long time, but I decided the best thing to do would be to just use it up and move on. I am also a sucker for old collections, not old as in I can find them on clearance, but more hard to find items that I end up tracking down and spending way too much on. I think the best remedy is just to use it and enjoy the process. We all have things that we buy and regret, but we also have things that we buy and use every last bit of, putting them into layouts and projects that we cherish and enjoy for years to come...it all balances out in the end

Craftwell USA Teresa Collins Cut'n'Boss. I honestly have no idea what on earth I was thinking. Big, heavy, mistake. I have it sitting out where I can see it as a sad reminder of what happens when you click "buy" without thinking things through. See? You are so not alone in making crafty purchase boo-boos. Welcome to the club.
