That's awesome! I kind of had a good one...I managed to troubleshoot my cameo software so that I can use it in the morning and made a layout last night that just needs journaling. Note: I did not use a cut file on that layout. Hopefully on one today.

That is great! I really miss having a LSS with crops.
I did get into my scrap space last night. I cleaned it up, sorted a huge order of photos, and started a layout.

There is no good day like a good scrappy day!
I suspect the definition of a perfect crop is different for every different crafter. Some of us seek peace or quiet companionship, and others seek excitement. Glad you found the balance that suits you.
I enjoy gettogethers where the focus is on scrapping rather than a big scrap party with lots of prizes and activities. I enjoy quiet visiting, but get distracted if too much is going on around me.

Glad you found the balance that suits you. This is beautiful. I did go to a crop this weekend and really, it checked of everything for me that makes a perfect crop. I even chatted with those two irritating ladies from my last week's crop ON PURPOSE!

Glad you had a good time! There aren't as many crops as there used to be and good ones are awesome to find!

My friends and I are going to a crop 8/26 at our LSS which is 45 min away. It is always a nice group, good light, 1/2 of an 8' table, cushy chairs, nice snacks and plain music at a decent volume, a little chilly, but I bring a l/s shirt for that. We always have a theme, take a group picture and are given supplies for a one page layout for the theme. This crop, the theme is Sweet Treats. We are supposed to bring a recipe for something Sweet. We haven't been since May (NSD), so we are looking forward to the crop.

grammadee and I had a crop of sorts. Just the two of us at her house. I made 17 pages in two days and she made 26? or so. Less distractions (except for her garden) and no store although Dee has enough stuff that she is willing to share that I don't miss it. We do this a couple of times a year.

How wonderful! I am going to pretend I'm at a crop over Labor Day weekend at home, I think. I want to get a lot done one weekend!

not a 'great' scrappy day, but I typically don't scrap at home at ALL during the weekend, so... for me, it was a pretty big deal. I finished a four-page layout (minus the journaling and a title) last night while we were catching up on Netflix tv series episodes. It's pretty simple (mostly cardstock and a few embellishments), but hey, it's [almost] done! ETA: my next task is editing photos and sending an order to Costco, because I'm going to be attending 2 1/2 days of cropping at the SB store over Labor Day weekend. (I think it's going to be kind of tough, though, because it's the stores *last hurrah* crop right before they close... I anticipate feeling pretty sad about it, even while we're having fun SB'ing.)

I went to a friends house for a card making weekend. I got there at 8:30 am Saturday and I left at 8:30 pm Sunday. Yep, 36 hours! There were a total of four of us. We do this a few times per year. It's always fun to play with other peoples stuff. I made 17 cards, but 10 of those were a set of Thanks cards using my new oxides and smooshing.

a set of Thanks cards using my new oxides and smooshing. Ooh! Ooh! Pictures? My Distress and Distress Oxide haul arrived yesterday from Joann's sale, and I'm looking for ideas! Here is the photo. I smooshed the oxides onto my craft mat, then sprayed with a homemade Perfect Pearls and water mix. I pressed watercolor paper to the oxides, drying with my heat tool between pressings, until I was happy with the look. I let them dry for an hour or more, then cut them with the MFT Big Thanks die and mounted them onto 110# black card stock. {deleted photo} The one with the speech bubble (my favorite) was an afterthought when I realized I had the LF Speech Bubble die (oops!) The little guy is from an old October Afternoon set called Night Light - no dies so he was fussy-cut. Sorry it's sideways, and so small.

GiantsFan - those are gorgeous!!! The one with the little guy made me chuckle out loud. I never would have thought to get that speech bubble die, but now that I see it used like that... (do you hear my credit card whimpering in the background?) You got such lovely, even coverage! I'm still learning.

Thanks kate . The thing I learned with the oxides is you need to dry them between pressings so the inks don't get muddy and if the watered down ink on my craft mat gets muddy I wipe it off and put fresh smooshes down, then resume my pressing. I have a lot of practice pages. Also if you add a small amount of Perfect Pearls in your water it gives the project an iridescent sheen. (I'm not sure if it's actually called smooshes and pressings, but it's what I'm doing)

Thank you so much for this great advice! I got a couple of fantastic backgrounds this way, and several more pretty darn good ones. And to answer your question, OP wonderwoman, YES, I've had a great scrappy day!

Love how the colour effects pop with the black border and the word showing through! I don't have that big "THANKS" die, but have a few different ones that might work. And yes, patience is the key with those inks. Wish I had more of it!
