Why in the world are these not actually 3x4 pockets? I thought it was me and kept trying different cards and these pockets are bigger than 3x4. I am about to pull my hair out. I know they're older but I have several packages of these. Am I missing something? I just randomly put different cards in here so you could see what I mean. The little hand icons are pointing to where all the extra space is in the pockets. The one card down in the bottom left pocket is a lot smaller than the 3x4 pocket. It was a digital pack that I bought from Push Print Studio and printed. Idk what the deal is with that. Judging by these cards and the measurements the pockets are definitely bigger than 3x4.

Is that extra space to allow for thicker cards, multiple layers on one or both sides? What happens if you pop up an embellishment on one of these cards? Or say matt a photo on one of them?
I like pockets that are a little bigger than the photo or the card I am going to put into them, so that if I matt a photo on one side and them add an embellishment to the card behind it, all of that fits in the pocket.

I'm ok with the size of the 3x4 pockets in those page protectors, and I actually like the little bit of extra space. What really annoys me are the 4x6 pockets which are more like 4x6.5.

I've actually found these pockets the best ones available. The extra space doesn't bother me and it means that the cards can't slip out like on the BH page protectors.
The SS ones are by far my favourite pps. The Studio Calico ones are THE WORST.

I used these a lot in the past and was ok with the sizing - helps if you have something a bit more bulky. They're way better than the original SC ones which were just ridiculously large.

As a flat PL embellisher who uses a Selphy (actual prints are actually a bit smaller than 4x6), they ended up driving me nuts. My cards and photos kept popping out. I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to play "where does this one go again?" when tilting the album a little too much.
It's a shame because the material of these protector pages is sturdy and will likely hold up well over time.

I didn't (when I did PL) mind a little extra space at the top, since that seems to help keep the card in place and protect it. Consistency was what I wanted. SC sucked at consistency in pocket sizing. I don't think I ever used SS.
The 4x6 sizing the worst thing though. If those pockets were a bit too big then the card or photo just wouldn't stay put as the pages turned. None of mine do and it drives me nuts, to the point that I mostly stopped using any pages with 4x6. Of course they were usually a bit too wide because if you have 3x4 and 4x6 pockets on the same protector, two 3" wide pockets would end up a little bigger than 6" because of the seam/fuse, and so the 6" wide pocket below it would be much too wide. I guess that's why BH's original PL pages had slightly smaller than 3x4 pockets in the middle (didn't they? am I remembering that right?) because she intended people to be able to put standard 4x6" photos straight from the photo lab in the main pockets. I'd happily trim all of my 3x4" cards if it would guarantee me a snug fitting 4x6 pocket.
Not that I do PL anymore... But apparently I still care!
