oh, Dunkirk- I actually forgot we saw that at the theater... it was good, but kind of slow. Guess that's why I forgot, lol.

There haven't been any movies this summer that weren't remakes or sequels.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was the only movie we were interested in and we never made it to see it at the theatre. Last movie I saw at the theatre was Fantastic beasts. Great movie but oh so expensive!
I'm tired of having to pay over 100 bucks for the four of us to go to a movie. It's insane

Only movie I saw this summer was Wonder Woman, which I loved, but was so expensive. And there were a handful of really rude people talking, getting up/down, messing with the seats, and left a huge mess we had to walk through at the end. I'd much rather watch movies at home.

We saw Despicable Me 3, Cars 3, and Spider Man Home Coming and enjoyed all three! We are waiting for Sept 22 to see Ninjago Lego movie. Ds loves that show and the lego movies are always funny. Then we wait for the next Star Wars movie!!
Dd (14) can't wait for next summer because Jurassic World 2 comes out (she is a HUGE fan)

I saw The Dark Tower. HUGE disappointment. Especially when I had to spend $15 on the ticket. Me too...thought it was alright. But then I'm completely out of the Stephen King loop on that one. A lot of it probably went over my head and I didn't even realize it. We went to the matinee so, only spent $8 a ticket. Not too bad. Our theater is starting to catch a clue...they've started bringing back classics like "Gone With The Wind", "Close Encounters", and "Singin' in the Rain". I'll be going to the big screen for any one of those! A couple of our theaters have been doing this for a few years too. Usually its on weekdays, they'll have a couple screens running older movies. I saw ET a couple of months ago on the big screen which was kind of neat to me. It was my first movie to see in a theater when I was a kid.

(I'm also one of the few people who can't stand the huge new reclining seats almost all the theaters have now. I LOVE the recliners - lots of space between the rows, pick seats before you go, it's great! (Other than the fact that my feet don't touch the ground, so I don't have the option NOT to recline.) I love the recliners too. My only complaint is I think sometimes people get a bit too comfy. When I went last week two 13 ish girls were next to us and they both took their shoes off as soon as they reclined. Their feet stunk worse than my ex boyfriends after playing soccer all day. Bleck!

(I'm also one of the few people who can't stand the huge new reclining seats almost all the theaters have now. We drive out of our way to go to a theater with regular comfortable seats. But that may be a rant for another thread.) I agree with everything else you posted. My DH and I used to regularly go to movies as well, but lately we haven't gone it all because the pickings were so slim. But I actually love the new seats, I like putting the armrest up and being able to snuggle with DH while we watch a movie. May I ask why you don't like them? I don't like to recline, and if I keep the footrest down, the seat is so high up that my feet dangle uncomfortably off the floor. So I have to put the footrest up, and...well, I don't like to recline! I just want to sit upright with my feet on the floor.

We tend to only see big action movies at the theater. This summer we saw and loved Wonder Woman, Spider Man and GOTG2. We saw Valerian and thought it was pretty bad.
Our reclining reserve seat theater is $13 for standard and $15 for 3D movies. I love the reclining seats but find I have to bring a small throw blanket and sweatshirt with me because it's so cold inside. It's rare that I go to a movie and have issues with other patrons being distracting or rude.

I haven't been to a theater in years and at this rate I am not sure when I will again. I hate that people can't stay off their phones and you can see their screens in the dark theater. Kids running up and down and the sticky floors and the kids kicking your seat - nope I just prefer to borrow it from the library or rent it and watch in peace and quiet and with the snacks of my choosing.
I do wish there were more movies to choose from though as there just haven't been many in the past 5 years or so. I would love more romantic comedies key word on good.
I do want to see Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
