I'm sure this has been discussed...but trying to round it up into one spot.
Lately I've been dabbling in (too) many mediums and I'm getting confused at what works best for what... I've been going through what I have trying it with different mediums, but I'm getting mixed results. I know there are some recommendations for the Neenah paper, but I wanted to see what others results are before buying a ream. Also, any good results from stuff at Michaels/Joanns? Like the artist papers - I have trouble finding bright white or smooth that I would want to include in cards. I've always used Papertrey Ink cardstock, but it's kind of heavy for layering a lot, so trying to see what lighter weight papers may work.
What is your favorite/best results paper for:
Distress Oxides: Ink Blending: In general stamping: Coloring w/ alcohol based markers: die-cutting: card bases: watercolor:
anything else?

Ink Blending: Bristol Smooth Coloring w/ alcohol based markers: XPressit card bases: Recollections 110 lb from Michael's because it's cheap, no shipping, and can use coupons watercolor: Canson XL or Bristol Smooth for Zig Clean Color Real Brush
The others you mentioned it either doesn't matter to me yet or I don't use.

ink blending: Bristol smooth (I haven't tried Distress Oxides yet)
die cutting: Paper Source or PaperTrey Ink or Bazzill cardstock (or the really old Club Scrap cardstock in my stash) card bases: Papertrey Ink or Neenah solar white 110lb watercolor: Canson XL
I don't use alcohol markers so I can't recommend anything for that.

I'll "third" the recommendation of Bristol Smooth for inks/clean colour markers/distress blending. Really love it. I also use the XL watercolour paper due to price point. I'm sure the spendier papers are better, but they are WAAAAY more expensive! I have Neenah 80 lb for copics and I don't like it. And I haven't found the 110lb cardstock at Michaels here (Canada)

I don't feel I'm an accomplished and experienced enough mixed media artist to tell you about most of these uses. But I was a watercolour painter years before I started scrapping and still am. I stand behind Arches Aquarelle papers (they're 100% cotton and sized to the core with natural gelatin meaning you can scratch them and not risk any tearing). They are magic for watercolours and Distress Oxide. They'll take all the water you want to use and spray on the surface without warping. Delightful!
Lightweight, however, they are not.

Bristol Smooth for distress blending. (It was a night and day difference on my other cardstocks. Others may work but it took a lot of effort to blend.) I use PTI cardstock for Copic Coloring. I like PTI cardstock for card bases. I use cheaper cardstock (if I can find the right colors) for layering. This is just to keep the weight of my card down.

Distress Oxides: If you're smooshing and adding water you need a watercolor paper. I use TH Watercolor paper or Canson XL Ink Blending: Bristol Smooth works great with distress inks AND Zig real brush markers using a waterbrush and minimal water In general stamping: Neenah 80# Coloring w/ alcohol based markers: die-cutting: Neenah 80# card bases: Right now I'm using Recollections 110# white and black watercolor: TH Watercolor or Canson XL

Awesome! Thank you all for your reviews. I will need to seek out some Bristol Smooth for blending. Appreciate hearing what hasn't worked for some too. That was my situation...At first it would seem ok, but then paper would warp or fibers would peel off. I need to make myself a chart or cheat sheet so I remember!
Glad to see PTI cardstock is still rated highly as that's what I mostly already own.
Keep suggestions or experiences coming!

Initially I believe it was only offered in black or white, but now they have packages with different assorted colours.
