  I saw a dresser on Pinterest that I liked, and set out to find one that matched. It was mainly the drawer pulls I was looking for.  I found this on Craigslist for $40 and jumped all over it. It was dusty and had a sticker on it that took some work to get off, but a little Goof off and TSP substitute, and voila, ready to go. It's a lovely hard, heavy wood, which is what really matters. Paint, transfer, poly sealer, silver spray paint (that turned out to be the hardest part, naturally) and I have my Gypsy Queen dresser. Here's the before and after -    |

Wow what a transformation!! How is the image on there? Is it a decal or stencil?

I love it too! You did a great job, and the drawer pulls are awesome, just ornate enough without being to fussy  Where do you get decals from? I have a similar dresser that is just painted white but my daughter wanted to redo together. She would live to find some decals for it. |

It's a transfer. Not a decal - this one is whisper thin. There are numerous ways to get an image onto furniture, but I did it the easy way and bought this one - I just really liked it. Flat front dresser, and ornate pulls - it needed that image exactly.  I got this one from Amazon (naturally, I spend an unholy amount of money on that site!) It's by Prima Marketing. Just search "prima marketing transfer" and you'll see it If you have patience and time, you can handpaint it too. I just can't be bothered right now. |

If you've ever wanted to try painting furniture, I say just jump in and go for it! It's not nearly as hard as it looks, and as long as you're patient, it will work.
