So I tried to get Bruce Springsteen tix in NYC--he' playing at a small venue, about 20+ different dates.
Had to register to make sure that only "fans" would get the tix.
Then you were either given a code to buy tix or on "standby".
Of course I'm a loser and got standby.
But go onto Stubhub and there are already 40+ people selling tix up to $4000 (not sure if that is for one or two tickets)
Half hour into the ticket sales being on and already people are selling these.
I hate Ticketmaster!!! (I know, I've vented before about them).

It is very frustrating! It just seems there is not a good, reliable way to get tickets anymore.
Seriously? $4,000!!! That is crazy!

They are doing the pre-register thing for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. Registering for the opportunity to buy tickets sounds like just too many steps to me. I with there was a way to cut down on the opportunists who artificially drive prices way up.

It seems like that is becoming more commonplace - I don't like it. I agree - too many steps. Just put the tickets on sale and let us buy them. Plain and simple - it doesn't have to be so complicated.

As long as people are paying the high prices, people will buy and scalp! I don't see this going away anytime soon. It's not Ticketmaster's fault - it's supply/demand. My vent is all the freakin' FEES that Ticketmaster adds to each ticket and each order. It's highway robbery. Make the ticket price be all in - don't nickel and dime me all the way to the checkout screen. UGH!

What they are doing in London for Hamilton is that you have to bring your credit card and an ID to use the tickets. So no resales.
It seems like that they all need to put something in place to stop this ridiculousness.

Certain seats, not all, you will have to bring the credit card you used to purchase the tickets and show it when they scan the ticket. Personally, I think in theory it's a brilliant idea, although I can see downsides.

It's another layer.. but you can't buy tickets for your kid or as a gift for someone else. I bought tickets to see Hamilton in London just in case Lin Manuel Miranda was in it. I decided not to go and would have gifted the tickets to my niece but I couldn't. So that is a bummer. But they have to do something to stop these ridiculous bots. buddysmom I just read they added more dates to the Springsteen performance.

I was lucky enough to get Garth Tickets last year when he was in Columbus but when I tried within seconds of his tickets for Cincinnati or Indiana no luck. I did have to show my credit card and my voucher of some sort on my phone. Of course it did not work. I was having a stroke but the amazing security guy calmly walked me through the process and did something extra and thankfully it worked. I had bought 6 tickets. LOL
Just FYI I was silently having a stroke. I was not being loud or mean.
