I have no idea what to make for dinner. The next few days will be all about not heating up the house anymore than necessary, due to a spiking heat wave. I'm thinking tacos. I have my ocular scan today and that will tell my eye doc what's truly happening w/my eyesight. I'm looking forward to answers, so that I can put this out of my mind. Honestly, I've been so focused on all of these medical things that need to be corrected that fixing a meal hasn't registered. Time for a fun distraction over here.
What's on your menu?
Have a terrific day.

Our weather has broken today. Between when I left kinder just after midday, and 2pm, the temperature fell by 5°C! And it is even colder now. Tomorrow is going to be a max of 14°C - definitely autumn weather.
Dinner for me tonight is the second portion of the Italian chicken I made last night.

I guess sushi. Otherwise I don't know. Is nothing an option? I will be hungry by 6 pm so I guess probably fasting isn't an option.

I am making mini quiches to get ready for back-to-school. I have wonderful silpat muffin holders that makes doing a crustless quiche so easy. Supper - I am going to a fish fry. My ds is 'pre-fishing' for a major tournament this weekend and they have fish to be cooked tonight. Yum!

scrapmaven , sending good thoughts for your scan today. DS will be driving up from the Bay Area so I plan to fix things that can be put on the table when he arrives. With Labor Day traffic the usual 2 hour drive could be 3 or longer. Can't wait to see his face! Now, DH has been painting a picture from a photo he took up at Tahoe last year. It's his first painting other than the one we did in class. He doesn't like it, I think it is great for a beginner. What say the tribe? ETA: He isn't finished and would not be happy that I *published* it. Shhhh Your dh is quite talented. He's doing a great job on his painting and I would never guess that he's a beginner. Thank you for your good thoughts.

scrapmaven good luck with your scan. Hopefully you get some answers. quiltz, a fresh fish dinner sounds wonderful. cadoodlebug, what a great job on that painting. I had the day from hell yesterday. I was so manic I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I ended up leaving work early and calling my doctor. She prescribed a new med for me. When DD got home from school yesterday I had her drive me to the pharmacy to pick it up. I took it and within an hour I was calm. I took today off work too. I got the kids off to school and went back to bed for a little while. I felt really mixed this morning. I got up took my medicine and now I am feeling calm again. This medicine is a godsend. And the best part is I don't have to take it everyday I can just take it when I need it. I have three hello fresh meals in my fridge right now. I am thinking I may make cod cakes for dinner. Lostinspace post has me feeling like fish.

Hugs to you, jeremysgirl . Dinner is a mystery. I made pilaf last night to go with BF's chicken kebabs. They were delicious, and I wouldn't mind a rerun tonight.

Not a clue. Cleaning lady day so probably something like pizza or maybe something quick and easy in the IP. Haven't given it much thought.

scrapmaven I hope you get the answers you would like to get. cadoodlebug that is a really good job on that painting. There are some really great water colorist on the youtubes that your hubby might like to check out, it will make him feel better about his painting. Water color is not suppose to be precise. Try Alan Owen, he is a hoot. He is a retired Scottish fellow who is a wonderful water colorist. He paints and chats in a brogue while I watch and get entertained. jeremysgirl I am so sorry that day from hell went to your house, I didn't intend for it to go there when I chased it away from my house. I am glad the new meds are working well for what you need right now. For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying chicken lightly sautéd in olive oil, macaroni salad, grapes, and whatever else falls out of the fridge. Happy Thursday Everybody!

The tribe sends outsized wishes of the best of luck to scrapmaven and jeremysgirl as they stare down their medical issues and fight with whisk, spatula, and those yellow thingies that hold corn on the cob but not corn from a can. As well, tribal honors today go to the mighty artist husband of cadoodlebug for his Picasso-like rendition of rock and terrain. May we all be so blessed as to be able to interpret what one sees on canvas. Or just blessed to be able to put a Command strip accurately on a wall and hang someoene else's painting or photograph. The scribe babbles on. But not to the tribe. We are in heavy packing-the-trailer mode and I am stymied by the kitchen limitations on space. Thus, we will enjoy takeout tonight or head over to CarefreeSadie 's for a taste of her meal. I love macaroni salad. Thanks for the thread. Off to sharpen my tribal scribal pencils.

jeremysgirl, I'm sorry that you're cycling. Do you also have a therapist w/whom you can talk about this? I'm glad that the med is working, but I wonder if a stressor triggered the mania? Wishing you a very calm weekend. If you need a day off tmw take one and take, good, loving care of yourself, because you're worth it. Thank you for your thoughts. I'm truly angry right now. I was on my way out the door for my scan and the phone rang. I was told that I had to reschedule, because I was late. Huh? Yesterday I got an email confirmation from my eye doctor at a different time than the one I had written down. So, I thought I'd written down the wrong time. Turns out that the time listed in the email confirmation was for my actual appointment w/the doctor, herself. I was meant to arrive 45 minutes earlier for the test. Since it wasn't in the email how on earth would I have known that? I am now re-scheduled for the end of September. Would you want to be left waiting if you were told you were likely facing a serious eye problem? Two weeks in a row something important has been cancelled that very same day. I'm really steamed.

Well that just stinks scrapmaven. My mom spoke with one of the docs she does billing for. He recommended a full neuroendocrine work up for me. He was concerned that I have not only this bipolar disorder but also pcos, hypothryoid, and high blood pressure. He thinks something might be going on with my endocrine system. It seems like as I get older it becomes much harder to manage my health. I'm going to give him a call tomorrow and I'm putting in a call to my insurance company to see if I can go to University of Michigan for a complete work up.

Try Alan Owen, he is a hoot. He is a retired Scottish fellow who is a wonderful water colorist. He paints and chats in a brogue while I watch and get entertained. Actually he's using acrylic paint. He's been Googling and watching a ton of You Tube videos. He found a treasure trove of 2 - 3 minutes videos that focus on one small aspect so those are a great help. No overload on the brain.

After what seems like a long and strange week, I just have zero idea of what to eat. I am not sure I am actually hungry...or maybe it is that I am a little hungry, but too damn lazy to get off my ass and do anything about it. I had pizza already once this week so that's out. I am still waiting to hear from my National Guard son in Louisiana to see if he has been called up. He hasn't responded to my texts or his dad's calls...I think I am not worried so much as just wanting to know if he okay.

Oh scrapmaven that just sucks the big one.
Jeremysgirl I hope you can get that work up. At your new med can hold you over.
So I decided to empty my large walkin closet of more clothes to donate. Well I forgot to pick up my weekly csa share. So I ordered pizza for dd & I. It's Dj's golf league tonight and they're watching Ohio state after.
