I've posted before on the weight loss threads, but not for a while now. It's been a super busy, crazy summer.
I started on a healthy/low carb eating plan on March 1, and I have officially lost 20 pounds. I know that doesn't sound like much since the beginning of March, but for me, it is huge. I have not been able to lose weight in years. Also, I had a difficult time this summer sticking to my healthy eating. At the beginning of the summer, my mom broke her hip, so I traveled every weekend in June to help my parents. They are meat and potato eaters. LOL I took stuff with me, but still, it was difficult. I also had a vacation to the beach, which involved way too many adult beverages and food I don't normally eat. I had a couple of other trips as well, and it is so hard to eat healthy when you are traveling.
I don't exercise as much as I should either, but I have been trying to walk more.
I didn't do anything crazy, mainly, I just cut out white stuff (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, etc), and I eat sooooo many veggies! It's a wonder I haven't turned green I eat so many veggies. And lots of protein, not a whole lot of dairy other than eggs. I don't count calories or points either. I probably could lose faster if I did.
But, the really good thing is that I don't feel deprived or even like I am dieting. I eat really healthy most of the time, and once in a while, I do treat myself to ice cream or pizza. I really feel like I have changed my eating habits to something that I enjoy and that I will keep up with. I still would like to lose about 10 more pounds.
I have gone down from a size 14 pants to a 10. I have gone from an XL shirt to a M. I didn't take measurements at the beginning, but now, I wish I would have.
I mostly carry my weight in my stomach, and my stomach still is "rounder" than I want it to be. LOL But, for the most part, I am thrilled. I am in my 50s, and weight has been hard for me to lose in the past.
I will try to post a before and after pic, but now that I can't use photobucket, I need to figure out how to do it!

The first photo was taken in July when we were on vacation. The second was last September. I chose these two because I am wearing the same shirt. The second one looks funky shaped because I cropped out my two friends who were in the photo with me.
