or didn't like it? My Saatva Luxury Firm mattress was delivered on Friday. I could tell pretty quickly that it was much, much firmer than I anticipated. It is described as "luxury hotel style" and "favored by 82% of customers". I find the mattress uncomfortably firm and had joint pain within 10 to 15 minutes of laying on it the first night. I sleep on my sides and by early morning I am on my back. I've woken up the past 3 mornings with pain in my lower back, shoulders and hips so it clearly isn't for me. I feel a bit strange being told I'm outside of 82%. I really didn't think that would be the case.
So, I need a softer bed. I will try their Plush Soft as that is the only other choice that is less firm. I'm also not fond at all with the comfort of the mattress top. The way the sewing/quilting holds down the mattress top creates huge peaks and valleys and it feels uncomfortable as well.
Our previous bed, which I slept on for 14 years, I didn't care for right from the start and just tolerated it. I'm not willing to do that this time.
We had a weird experience with delivery as Saatva sent the correct mattresses (I ordered a split King so that uses 2 twin xl mattresses) but the wrong bases--they sent the Cal King split bases (they are the Lineal adjustable bases). So the bases are longer and more narrow than the twin xl's. As they were setting it up and I could see that there was a 4 inch gap between the mattress and the wall and then saw how much the mattresses were hanging off the side of the bases I was a bit worried but luckily the delivery company could tell something was off and they called it in. So, Saatva is sending the correct bases out to me when they are available. I think I like the adjustable bases but I am waiting to hopefully see that they operate differently when the correct base is used with the mattress. Right now, with the head raised up, it pushes your feet an inch or two off the end of the bed and it puts you quite far away from your nightstand (which because it is a "wall hugger" it shouldn't do that). The bases are not returnable which is okay as I don't dislike them, I'm just hopeful that the King split base raises up the head area closer to the top of the mattress to eliminate the problems with being too far down the mattress and too far away from the nightstand. The massage settings are pretty nice to help you relax and the under-bed lighting is nice as well. With the frame risers in the 2nd to last position, I can use my underbed boxes. It makes the bed maybe 2 inches higher than I would like but it is workable.
Sorry for the long winded post. I guess I'm hoping for validation that it is okay to know you don't like your mattress so quickly. I am worried I'll get push back from Saatva trying to return it so quickly.
