Would you share your opinion about this question, please? I am making a wedding album for our son and his wife who were recently married. The order of the album will be the order in which the events of the day occurred ---- starting with pictures of the venue/church, bride and groom getting ready, etc. Every time I do a wedding album I wonder about this --- do you put all the group pictures BEFORE or AFTER the wedding ceremony pictures? I think for our other son I put them after, just wondering what the peas think. TIA.

I've only done one wedding album but I have to admit that it never occurred to me to put the group photos before the ceremony in the album. For me, I think I would always do Pre-Ceremony, Ceremony, Group Photos, Reception, sorted chronologically within each section. Presumably the group includes Mr. & Mrs. Newcouple, which they only are after the ceremony.

Group photos after the ceremony, before reception. This unless they are taken at the reception! I am all about chronological order for these types of albums.

I put group shots at the end since they generally don't contribute to the timeline of the day. This way the first part of the album is focused on the couple, the ceremony and events of the reception (speeches, special dances, etc) then the last pages are about who else was there.

I like to intersperse the group photos and couple photos throughout the book to break up the chronological order. They sort of act as a divider between events. I'll print large 8x10 or 12x12s of my favorites.

I am not sure what I am doing yet. If i made it chronological I would put some before the ceremony and some after. My son and dil had an evening outdoor wedding and Golden hour was just after the ceremony ended at 7:45 or so. The reception was at the same venue and needed to be cleared out by 11. SO it left very short time for photos after. To live plenty of time for the couple photos. They did the brides and bridesmaid and the groom and groomsmen's photos separately before the event. Then full wedding party and family photos after. I am just not sure what I will do. LOL sorry I am not much help! I will be reading this thread for advice.

I am currently working on my wedding album, and appreciate all the thoughts.
I'm thinking chronological getting ready (including something old/new/borrowed/blue and choosing the dress) - ceremony - reception, and like the idea of guests at the end.

Except for the very first page, in which I would use one larger photo of the couple OR some artful grouping of a few key photos, I would arrange the rest of the album in the order in which things occurred. For my own album that was pre-ceremony photos as we all got ready, the ceremony, group photos outside the church, then the reception. I chose to put photos of my shower and of the brunch the day after the wedding in my regular yearly album, so that my own wedding album was strictly the day of the wedding. But I could totally see putting any sort of other wedding related events in the album, too.

Ceremony - Group photos - Reception is how I do it as usually thats the chronological order in which they happened.
