"Rep. Steve King, the Iowa Republican who famously said that most DREAM Act recipients have “calves the size of cantaloupes” from running drugs across the border and then led the House GOP’s efforts to reel back President Obama’s DACA program, said this morning that President Trump’s decision to end DACA will lead to DREAMers who have been deported creating a Peace Corps-like force that will teach their home countries “how a civilized people interact with each other.”" "And they would go back there with a U.S. taxpayer-funded education, many of them the college education, they will have top-notch English skills, they would understand how a free-enterprise economy works, how a generally corrupt-free society, first world works. They would have seen the transportation system we have, the educational system, the research and development systems that we have, how a civilized people interact with each other."
Every time I think the racist right can't get more deplorable, they do. But then, he is enabled by the voters of IA, the majority of whom either think he's best for the job or can't be bothered to vote. www.rightwingwatch.org/post/steve-king-deported-dreamers-can-teach-home-countries-how-a-civilized-people-interact-with-each-other/

He is horrible. He is my mom's representative and she despises him. I do not understand why people like this get elected, let alone re-elected, after all of the deplorable things he has said.

What do you expect from him? I wouldn't expect him to be any different. Ever. His soul is darker than the La Brea tar pits.

" a generally corrupt-free society" has me laughing my ass off. Me too. First it's incorrect factually, it's just that we make our corruption legal by calling it "campaign finance laws". Second, it's incorrect grammatically. Maybe, according to Steve's thinking, all the kids in the US should go illegally to "first world" Europe, then get kicked out and come back here to teach Americans how even more greatly "civilized people" interact with each other. fortune.com/2015/07/20/united-states-decline-statistics-economic/

Head spinning trying to decipher and figure out where he's coming from and how he could say that. Then *ding* - it doesn't matter to me what he says. Disregard-this and probably anything he has to say in future. I don't see me agreeing with him on much of anything.

He must feel very secure in his reelection to comment this way.
The actual reality is that these young people who were brought to this country without their consent as children would be deported to a country where they have few family ties, may not speak the native language and no resources. Kind of like Survivor, only without the safety net of a tv show to step in and rescue you when you're in jeopardy.

We need to make sure every single person of color in our districts are registered to vote by 2018. If they all vote against these creeps it will send a powerful message that racism will no longer be tolerated.
When I listened to Jeff Sessions glee for the end of DACA I wanted to wring his scrawny neck. How he has been elected to any position over the years disgusts me.

You are assuming that all people of color have the same values. will vote the same way and that that way will be Democrat. In effect, you are judging an entire group of people and how they will behave by the color of their skin. Classic racism.

Racism is when you feel inherently superior to a group of people because of a specific reason (race, religion, etc.). Prejudice is having expectations of a group of people based on subjective factors. Source: Urban Dictionary but there are a lot of articles out there on the difference between the two terms.

Ignoring all the racist stuff in there..... " a generally corrupt-free society" has me laughing my ass off. Transportation system has me laughing my ass off. We absolutely suck at public transport. Iowa particularly sucks at public transportation. I'm not sure exactly where his district starts and ends. But I would say one town at most, in his district (I think it goes to Ames now) has a bus. And that is it for public transport.
