While I was looking for a bag for my Cutterpillar crop, I stumbled across the Cutterpillar light board. It was apparently introduced at CHA this year. My question is, why would I ever need this.
I remember back in the day when I HAD to have a lightbox to dry em boss with my stencils. It is sitting on the shelf where it's been for years! They've talked about it providing light for your work, but don't you need light from above? This thing is priced it for $100 and I just don't see it. Does anybody have it and can tell me what I'm missing?

That seems expensive; Martha Stewart had something similar to this...in fact I think I have (had) one. My light box is hardly used, but it comes in handy when I need to trace something.

Does the glass plate come with it? I remember paying quite a bit for my Slice glass board. I love it for cutting with an Xacto knife or CM or EK Success cutting systems.

I think you use them for weeding vinyl cuts.

I think you use them for weeding vinyl cuts. ? When you cut an intricate pattern out of vinyl, you have to pull all of the unused vinyl from the shape. Then you use transfer tape to put the vinyl where you want it.

I watched the video. I can see using it for calligraphy, tracing, and maybe even placement of stamps. And I guess if you are working in a dark room, you can have light without a lamp, especially since the higher priced model has a built-in battery. It actually seems kind of cool looking, but I doubt I would use it enough to justify the cost.
