I am trying to make a 4 x 6 title on my Silhouette that says It's a Guy Thing. I want it so that the actual letters aren't used for the title, just the 4 x 6 rectangle with the letters left off of it. So I need the a and the g to have an opening somewhere on the letters so the inside space isn't gone. I know I have done it before with polaroid frames with names underneath them, but when I transferred my Silhouette files to the cloud, all of my personal designs went poof. I have tons of fonts and have used Wordmarkit to search, but I haven't had any luck. Anyone?

I don't understand exactly what you're asking, so here are my responses to 2 interpretations: If you're asking for letters without their insides: I'm no Silhouette expert, but I think you can eliminate the inside of the letters with any font. If you right click, release compound path, you can select the inside lines and delete them. OTOH, if you don't want the insides, just cut the letters and remove everything inside the outermost cut and you have the same effect. If you're asking for a font that has a connection between the inside and outside so that there is still some paper inside te A and G, I'd look for a stencil font (like this: www.identifont.com/similar?594) I literally just googled stencil font but that search may lead you to something you like from a source that you like and trust.

Some cutting software programs also have a "stencil bridge" function that allows you to make any font into a stencil font. I know some versions of Funtime have it because I've done it, but not sure about the others because I don't use them regularly enough to know off the top of my head.

You can make any font you have cut without the negative spaces. Just ungroup and delete the stuff you don't want. But KG's Bless Your Heart is awesome!

Thanks, ladies. Last night I went to dafont and it was "closed" for updating. I tried finding one in my font catalog (I have several hundred), and couldn't find the one I previously used. I do want it to look more stencil-like.

Thank you so much for this question. Last night I could not ungroup my fonts to release the inside of letters. Ellewood, I had to release the compound path first, thanks to your suggestion, and it worked!
