I am glad I cancelled my SBTM kits and Story kit. I really like AE, but very tired of her stuff. I did learn a lot from her. I feel like I have those numbers from the StoryKit or is it alpha from either AE or SC. Not sure. I am kind of tired of rubber words/icons whatever from everywhere and did not buy any lately. I feel like they are not good in the long run for my scrapbooks and I don't really like to always have them stapled. I don't know. I am one who used adhesive and glue in the beginning and ruined some pages. I do have quite a bit of it from AE and FJ and will still use some of it though eventually. I have so many AE kits and I want to use them to tell a story or 2 and then I may sell a lot of it. Too much of the same for me. Disappointed in myself for FOMO and subbing and purchasing for so long and not using it. This is just my opinion for me and in no way judging anyone who subs to her. I just went overboard. I mean during sales, I had no self control and bought so many repeats of embellishments and week in the life kits. My goal is to do a monthly PL recap using my SBTM kits from last year - for this year. We will see. I’m interested in numbers and bond if you have those and are willing to sell. I just canceled my subscription too. Yet, those are two kits that I wish I had.

$50 seems high for the kit.

I agree with sleepingbooty, that color scheme... Those numbers are a retread from a past WITL kit. I have to admit I haven’t liked a lot of AE color schemes lately (well maybe half). I’ve heard that Katie chooses all the colors now. Some of them are just too bold. I like colors that are softer. Especially for the winter and spring. I just don’t don’t like the January SBTM colors and they did them again for 2019! That’s 3 years in a row. I’m not a fan of the habits color scheme either. I wish Ali was still choosing the color combos.

I’ve heard that Katie chooses all the colors now. I've heard this too and I just don't understand. Katie is great... she's always been super nice, seems to always put in a ton of effort and seems like a great friend to Ali. This is nothing against Katie personally, who seems to be doing the best she can and seems like a genuinely great person. But she is not a designer, she got hired by Ali as a babysitter and became a really great friend. This is another case of someone hiring their friends (I'm looking at you Becky) rather than people who are qualified to do the job. I'm sure her and Ali get along really well and that probably translates into a great working relationship and fun work days, but bringing Katie into design decisions just doesn't make sense considering she has absolutely no background in design and isn't even a scrapbooker (Remember when she briefly tried to do project life? I think it was pretty clear that she didn't really have an interest in the hobby).

What is the purpose of the kit? Perhaps I missed something. Ali said on FB that there would be no examples from her or the design team for using the kit...but usually there are, and also, usually, there is a stated purpose....like WITL, December Daily, Travel...why would someone buy this kit? And what is unique and new and would justify the $50 price? I'm not complaining, just asking...

I had been thinking about taking the class, but seeing the kit. I don't see how the class adds up to the price. But I'll prob pick up the kit with the discount code to challenge myself to create with it. And just skip the class. Or look on Instagram for how the class has used the kit in the past.

Yes.I think they had a crap ton left over and built a kit around them. That's too bad, I really liked the numbers and would have bought them separately, but not in a $50 kit.

I think that kit is great if you have absolutely no basic supplies, or for a weekend crop like story camp where you might not have your stash with you, but it doesn't make sense as a stand alone purchase for people who already have a lot of supplies. Also, I don't want to pick it up because she says that she's going to continue using it for story camp in the future so if I ever decide to attend I wouldn't want to get it again!

On what planet is this a good colour combination The dark red and gold is used by many football teams for a color combo. But this variation doesn't look great.

On what planet is this a good colour combination Gryffindor colors. Let's just call it what it is. I plan to file a complaint that all house colors have not been represented in their kits.

It’s not an aversion to red and yellow together. It’s that brown tone of red and the muddy baby puke yellow. Gryffindor yellow is much more vibrant. As is the red, too.

I must be missing something because I can't remember a time when Story Camp came with a kit? I remember there were a lot of goodies from previous Story kits and from her shop, but I've never seen a special kit from the class. Is my memory tricking me?

I don't think they ever specifically posted the kit as included with the class, but the description said this: •(4), 3 hour workshops with product provided to complete projects. Full color instructional handouts. Workshop details below.
I'm assuming the kit was what was used as the "product provided to complete projects."

According to the video they started using this kit with the October class and will use it in future classes. There has always been product given to do the workshop projects from one's I've looked at in the past, but it was just old shop/kit products.

Do I want the grey dot 6x8 album? I would probably buy two and use it for 2019 PL.
I don’t know 😭
