Yeah her font choices bug me to no end. Her type class was so overpriced. I actually took type in college a few years ago and there’s so much more to it than what she’s teaching/using.

I have a full set of those egg-shaped rubber phrase thingies from last year's WITL, if anyone wants it. Just send me a PM.
Taken.

I'm disappointed in the kit, too, for the second year. I look forward to WITL every year, and I'm disappointed. There isn't enough journal cards, at least with space to write. But I guess I'm just bitching over nothing. I do like most of the stamps (although I don't get the morning/evening/afternoon one). So I'll choose one, maybe 2, and make my own journal cards, and use some digital ones from previous years. I'm going to get the black album, too. I do like the new page protectors, too. I like the chipboard, but I think I'll use my stash.

I made a list of things I'd like to buy, added up the total and then started taking things off. I've decided I'm going to do a folded accordian mini to document the week, with one 3 by 8 page for each day, connected together, with the top of the pages, die cut using the days of the week die that I bought a long time ago. I'm going to section off each page into 4 sections - 1 for each family member and catch some highlights of the day. I'll use both sides of the 3 by 8 for a day- and mix up full pictures with mini pictures + words. I figure I can make this totally out of my stash.
So that left me with maybe buying the page protectors to use in a future project due to high probability of being sold out/long to get back in stock. I'm on the fence about the new inks. I love all colours but I already have a color box grey and hot pink pigment ink that are probably quite close, so the only one I don't have is the yellow, which I like and can wait for......
I'm thinking of the phrase stickers just because I like the orange and the "ing" stamp, but on the fence, as I can use one of my many mini alpha stamps ....soooooo I think I am down to just the stickers and the protectors.
I have 3 albums on the go - 12 by 12 PL, 8.5 by 11 for full page spreads and a 6 by 8 - I use all albums interchangeably .....based on the format I want to use for a particular story. Its probably quite a weird way to do it, but I like that it allows me the freedom to do what I want. This accordian "mini" I can put in any one of those albums.

Whats going on with these stamp pads? They look like they have cotton ball remnants on them? Right! Like how are they already that messy! I like the grey and yellow as they're not colors I have, but I'm a mini inks only so I'll be passing on those.

The WITL kit looks so thin compared to last year. I'll be skipping it. I liked the patches and that there are 7 of them, but how many times do you need to say today in an album.
Right now I think I'm getting the new page protectors, phrase stickers, alpha stickers, and transparencies. Although I'm a little annoyed that up until yesterday everything was shipping immediately and now nothing is shipping until 3/29 even if we don't get the main kit which is the reason for the holdup in shipping. Because I'm working on an album right now that the new 2x2 page would be perfect for, but I don't know if I want to put it on hold to wait for the pages to come in 3-4 weeks. (I assume my package will come smart post and take 10 days) I watched the youtube video before reading the blog so I didn't notice the delay in shipping when I saw the new page designs.

So the next lesson came out in Hello Story 2 and I started to look at the projects and I really like them. I think she really put a lot of time/effort into creating thorough/thoughtful project. With the story kits she often has at least one layout that is super simple, you know "reminding us that it can be that simple" but with Hello Story 2 all of the layouts have been really thoughtful and inspiring. I am really enjoying the class so if anyone is still on the fence I would recommend it--I think registration closes today. My only gripe is that it's only 3 weeks long! The first Hello Story was 12 weeks I think... I would've appreciated if she put together a similar sized class for the second installment. But maybe she tried and these were the only theme ideas she could think of that seemed worthwhile to create and, if that's the case, I guess I appreciate her limiting the class to the valuable content she had to put out instead of packing it with filler stuff. Good to know, thank you!

Would you (anyone taking the class) jump right into Hello Story 2 or go through Hello Story 1 first?

You can totally take 2 without taking 1... so if you like “live” classes I’d jump in on hello story 2... if not and you want to do them “in order” that’s fine too... I think each lesson is independent of the others.

Each lesson, even, is independent, so I just switch back and forth. I love new and modern, so I’ll look at all the HS2 content first and then toward the end of the week look at HS content to fill the gap, ha.

I know I am feeling overwhelmed by the amount of product I have right now. I love Ali and I was a subscriber for a long time, but her aesthetic is not something I want to be 100% in my albums. I need more variety and less... sameness. I realize she creates "intentional products" but I'm in a place right now where I need product to be more fun and less intentional. Some photos I scrap are silly or fully pics of my kids or a little snippet into our lives without it being a whole story. Her products work for her (and a lot of her customers) but they aren't necessarily working for me right now.

I haven't finished the first one... only made it through week 4... because I'm doing it self-paced and am requiring myself to finish 2 layouts per lesson before I move on. HS2 I like doing live with everyone else but didn't get a chance to make any layouts for week one because we were traveling... this weekend I am definitely going to create pages for the first two weeks.

I think for me, I liked my pages better when they look like I made them vs when they look like I shopped at aliedwards.com lol... still spending money there but being “intentional” about it.

No issues placing my WITL order! Nothing was sold out and checkout was easy peasy. Unlike the dreaded DD releases.

Just a heads up for those planning to order. I tried applying the "HELLO10" code because I thought I hadn't used it before, but I must have. Anyways, I clicked on the link to the WITL products at the top of the page (from my checkout page), and a pop-up offering me 10% off my order appeared. It was a unique code. I had to click on "claim my code". Just thought I'd share in case it would work for others. I spent enough for free shipping, so I didn't have to worry about choosing the best code.

I placed my order no issues and combined with my local friend so we could get free shipping (also because she can't order from work like I can). I picked up the new page protectors, the ink bundle, the -ing stamp & the chipboard bundle, she got just the chipboard bundle (she just does WITL in her project life album which is typically done monthly, I'm doing a digital photobook this year and using the products for other projects). Even without the code though shipping was only going to be $4. I'm happy with my purchase!

I ordered a stamp set and the chipboard. I decided to use the essentials kit and a bunch of In a Creative Bubble digitals for this years WITL. Haven't figured out the album yet, not thrilled with this year's offerings.
If you haven't looked at IACB you really should! So many of her products are perfect for WITL.

Looking at it all again, she really was all over the place with color choices wasn’t she? That's my problem with it, too. I just looked again to make *sure* I don't want any of it, lol, and fortunately for my credit card, I still don't.
I do like the colors of the new ink pads and might pick them if they go on sale. Nothing else though, yay.

That was all I bought — ink and page protectors. I didn't really need the otter gray color of ink, but not having a complete set just because of one ink bothered me, lol. I also had a 10% pop up, which helped with the shipping I paid (only about $3-ish).

Just page protectors for me. I should have waited for the 10% code to pop up, but oh well. I didn’t know how much stock they had or if they would restock, so I just checked out. Shipping was $3.31, which is reasonable! Yay!
I also got sucked into the $5 mystery journal cards. We will see what that is all about.
