I know Gladys Kravitz from bewitched but who is wrong way Feldman aside from the pea? I have seen Gilligan's island but don't remember well enough. Wrong Way Feldman was a bumbling pilot who accidentally landed on the island, going off course from his original flight plan. He was known for being bad with directions, and even the crew heard about it on the Professor's radio. Yet they still put all their hope in him for a rescue when he left the Island with a message from them with their coordinates, only to hear on the radio days later that he had again flown off course and was never found. In our house, whenever someone turns the wrong way or does something obviously incorrect, someone always hollers out "Wrong way, Feldman!"

Yes!! I call my horse Gladys all the time. He's so funny trying to look out over my shoulder to see what's going on down the aisle whenever I open his stall door.

Not only do I absolutely know who she is (and that two actresses played her over the course of the show due to the death of the actress who first played the character), but I have also experienced the same problem, of mentioning that someone is like Gladys Kravitz and getting a blank stare in return, which always surprises me. Particularly if it is someone similar in age to me. I think to myself "You poor person, how did you go through life without Bewitched?" I adored that show as a kid. And since I had no idea that it was a trick of the camera, I spent way too much of my life trying to make my nose move like Samantha's did.

I call myself that. I've been known to use binoculars to see what the neighbors are doing in their garages from time to time (blame it on my bad eyesight).

Yep! Got one right next door to me. Most people do understand the phrase when I use it.

Yes, we actually have two Gladys Kravitz in my family. My sister is Gladys Kravitz senior and my oldest ddis Gladys junior. Gladys is my dd's nickname and when she was in 1st grade she wrote it as her middle name

Have introduced my kids to it too. Elizabeth Montgomery was so lovely. Though I think I watched her in Lizzy Borden when I was too young and her amazing portrayal left me a little scared of her after that.

Hell yeah! Of course, I'm 54 years old. However, because we have a neighbor just like her (the nosy part - not meddlesome or mean) and refer to HIM simply as Kravitz, my sons know who she is as well. Gotta pass stuff down to future generations, right?

Yes, I know, but, in our family, we say Miss Virginia. She was our next door neighborhood and dear family friend. Our driveways were side by side. She knew ALL our comings and goings. We say it out of love.

I admit, when I saw this post I immediately recognized the name and knew it was a TV character from a show I was familiar with. But I couldn't remember which one. I was born in 1970. Saw Bewitched in repeats. I didn't particularly like the show.
Wasn't Gilligan's Island fan, either.
