Dh might make kung pao chicken. If not, I'm thinking about teriyaki chicken bowl. We'll see what dh decides. My normal busy Monday isn't busy today. After acupuncture I'll come home and be very relaxed.
What's on your menu?
Have a great day and a fantastic week.

I was planning on having leftover curry, as DH was meant to be going to Oktoberfest with a group from work tonight. He texted me just after 11 to say he was pulling out - he gets back spasms occasionally and it flared up again last night and he feels that several hours of sitting on a backless wooden bench in a crowded tent won't help.
That meant I needed a second grocery run, so we will be having chicken cacciatore with noodles. I probably should start cooking it soon.

Maybe flank steak ~ I'll decide when I take it out of the freezer. Woke up this morning and it was 62 degrees in the house ~ love sleeping with the windows open!

I think we will be having pizza bread.
I lucked out and we went to dinner at SO's sister's house Saturday and Sunday. No cooking!

I think we'll have a low country boil in the instant pot. I've got some crab legs in the freezer I'll throw in with the shrimp... should be good.

Dh requested chicken pot pie again after enjoying it immensely on Saturday night. Yesterday I made the filling and gave him instructions on putting the premade (by Pillsbury!) pie crust into the oversized muffin tins. I will be eating ham and bean soup that we took out of the freezer. I think it's a bit healthier than the pie.

I have been trying to minimize my electric bill so I have had air off. Then this weekend it was so darn hot. DH left yesterday and I thought I would sit down and crochet. Well it was 81 degrees inside my house and sitting under a blanket to crochet was just unbearable. So I broke down and turned the air on. Then I woke this morning to a nice cool day. I'm a little mad at myself for turning the air back on. By Wednesday though we are supposed to be having weather in the 80s again. I'd much rather have fall weather.
Tonight I think I am going to make chicken lo mein. And I will probably just bake a chicken breast with some broccoli for DS.

BLTs are on the menu here. My tomato plant is on its last legs and I'll be sad when it stops producing. sueg, your DH made a wise choice for tonight - I hope he feels better.

I bought some little steaks yesterday. I hate meat that has been in the freezer so tonight I will grill them up.
I guess I should make a salad to go with it and maybe some bakers.

I'm tired .... but I had mackerell defrosting in the fridge, so even though I wanted to tell DS to buy a frozen pizza on his way home from school, I was a responsible parent and panfried those darn stripey things! At least mackerell isn't the most awful fish out there.

I think I am making some sort of Tex-Mex ish chicken and rice. The other option was Fajitas, but it is raining, so grilling the meat for those can wait til tomorrow.

We talked about ours for about 7.953867 minutes on Friday It's a new club, a lot of us will be strangers to each other. Based on that, I bet we'll spend about 15 minutes on the book, and an hour picking the next one.

We are having BBQ chicken with foil cooked vegetables. I am not sure what else he would like. I bought a few different things to put in the pouch today (carrots, celery, broccoli, yellow potatoes, bean sprouts, zucchini). He can't eat onion and I couldn't get a leek (he likes leeks) so there isn't that kind of flavour in it unfortunately. It's pretty easy. I am just not really sure how long to cook the vegetables. I really have not a lot of experience doing this.

I was gone all weekend at my local group's 3-day crop. Hotel and restaurant food all the way. Works for me. Tonight I am making these Martha Stewart braised pork chops. Super easy, which is how I like to roll, especially on weeknights. I found the recipe in my Pinterest, so it may have come from one of you. Plus yellow rice (which I bought because of anxiousmom , but it never got made) and whatever veg is still breathing in my fridge ... I haven't even looked yet. leannec , I love the story about your mum and MIL and the educational differences and the Scrabble. Go mum!! hop2 , you are really just tweaking me, right?

Hi friends! I've kinda been mia lately. We've been super busy and I don't think it will come down anytime soon.
Poor Dh and I did one of our biggest oopsies as homeowners this morning. Ugh, we bought one of the those dryer vent cleaning kits at HD. Well, we attempted to use it and the piece with the brush is now in the vent somewhere!!! At some point it unattached itself. Guess our duct tape did hold up well enough. A heating company will come out next Tuesday to look at it. Praying they can just suck it out or something. The other option is a complete new vent system routed somewhere different. Ugh! UGH!
On a brighter note, tonight is family dinner. Meatball subs, salad, tots and dessert.

I made an Asian salad with mandarin oranges, edamame, cucumber, and chow mein noodles as garnish on romain and bok choy tossed in a sesame vinaigrette. I can ever just eat a salad so I also nuked some pot stickers and crab rangoon wontons to go with it.

Dinner was great! The chicken was wonderful and the vegetables turned out awesome. I was really impressed with how good they were! DS and I kept picking at the foil for more they were so good. There is a small leftover, too. That could be my lunch tomorrow even. They were so good! I am going to make them again, soon. I really liked them a lot. Not sure what to put in next time to make them different. They have no tomato so they aren't tangy that way. They are still good. I definitely want some sort of onion in there. I missed having that.

I saw that advertised and won't be getting one. Closed on our house so the rest of the day was spent cleaning. On the surface it looked pretty clean but once I started cleaning it wasn't. I expected that. It's not a new build. In the closets the paint is chipping and since it's 92yrs old it's most definitely lead based so I need to read up on what to do. I do have a painter coming this morning. There's a possum in the garage😳 Made the cheesy potatoes and kielbasa we were supposed to have yesterday. I work til 8pm tonight so it's fend for yourself.
