I was watching a TV show that featured a woman wearing one of Origami Owl living lockets and they look so cute. I'm just wondering how the quality holds up and if you are still satisfied with you purchase (I couldn't find any newer threads on this--one from way back in 2014 I think). I think I would use my own chains however.
I noticed Pandora has a "living locket" now too but of course it is quite expensive (and I have a lot of Pandora charms but just don't want to spend $140 for just the locket). I guess if I knew it was high quality and I would definitely be happy with it for many years I would consider it but I'm not at that point. However, I don't want to get the Origami Owl one if it seems cheap either.
Would love some input from those that have one or have seen one. Thanks.

I have two of their lockets. One big one and a smaller one, plus lots of charms.
To be honest I don't wear it as much as I thought I would. That being said they are in perfect condition! I used to be gung ho on those Italian charm bracelets years ago and I don't wear that either!
They are reasonably priced, I say if you want one you should go for it!!

I have one, don't wear it often, because I don't wear it to sleep. I love it, was given it by my DIL and DGSs, it has great meaning. I also don't change my earrings or ring, sometimes add other rings if I remember. Wear my Medical Alert bracelet, adds others to go out......
I think my locket is stainless, but I put it on a much heavier sterling chain.

Super overpriced.
You can get the same thing (memory lockets and charms) at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or eBay.

We bought one for my mom for mothers day after my brother died. It was in memoriam. She loves it and still wears it. We bought it in 2014. So she's had it for three years now.

Do you know the quality is similar or just don't like the higher price of the Origami brand. I've seen the jewelry at those craft stores and they don't seem of quality--a bit more like costume style. That is fine for certain looks but I'd like this to look a bit more classic. If you feel the look and feel of the craft store ones are similar to the Origami ones, then yes, they are most likely overpriced.

I have an OO living locket. It fell apart in less than 2 weeks, and the consultant did not make it easy to get it replaced. I have lockets I purchased from Joanns (with a coupon, of course) that are IMO the same quality, for a fraction of the price.

My friend bought an oragami owl one and I have seen it/held it/etc. in person. They are very, very close in quality. Oragami Owl is an MLM with the typical MLM (read: more than retail) mark up.

I've never seen either so I'll have to go to Joanns and look and see what they have.
If you don't buy Origami Owl, where do you purchase charms?

If you don't buy Origami Owl, where do you purchase charms? They sell them at all the craft stores, as well as the lockets. I've also purchased charms that represent my kids through HS fan mech fundraisers for my DS basketball team, and DD marching band. ETA: I've see a lot of charms in other mom's lockets, that came from eBay.

I absolutely love my Origami Owl necklaces. I have two or three lockets. I'm not a big fan of the chains.
I'll admit I don't entirely consider them high end jewelry. I think they do look nice, though I tend to consider it very nice looking costume jewelry. I have had other costume jewelry that wasn't nearly as attractive as my OO stuff.
You don't want to sleep with it on. I've only ever had problems with something falling apart one time, and it had something to do with wearing it to bed.

My chain tarnished to a large degree within a couple months. I wasn't thrilled.

I love mine, and it has held up very well, but I do feel that I could've gotten comparable result with items from craft stores. unfortunately they started carrying them after I had already bought my locket.

They're fine for costume jewelry (although now there are many knock-offs that are the same quality). The chains are rubbish, mine lasted maybe 2 wears before it started turning dull grey around the back of my neck. Typical MLM quality.

I bought my OO locket years ago, and I still love it. The chain is indeed cheaply made. I wear it with other chains I own. The ones at the craft stores are of very similar quality, and you can find charms all over ebay and amazon. I love the idea and have gotten lots of compliments on it. The woman I bought it from was super sweet -- I didn't realize they were a MLM at the time.

My locket has held up beautifully, I'm picky about chains so I didn't get one from them. I don't think the quality of the lockets is as good at the craft stores, but have bought charms there. My OO charms have also held up well, but I've seen them on ebay/amazon and would not hesitate to buy from those outlets. Some of the OO charms I haven't seen anywhere else, there was a nativity one that I loved that was perfect for my MIL. Others, like birth stones or basic shapes and some hobbies are very common and easy to find.
