i do his laundry and have for years, but then he got cranky and demanding about it and i would hear comments like "really, out of all that laundry, only one pair of my jeans got washed??". so i stopped washing his clothes all together.
i am back doing it, he works WAY more hours than i do... but i always leave it folded on *his* side of the bed and make him put it away. i was sick of hearing "did you wash....?" or "where is.....?". if he puts it away, he knows it's clean and where it is.
btw, if he left it sitting there or moved it to a chair, i honestly wouldn't give a crap.

I do the laundry start to finish for dh and I most of the time. It's the least I can do while he is outside sweating mowing the lawn or freezing shoveling snow. I also haven't washed my own car in about 15 years. It's an ok trade off for me.

First of all, he does most of the laundry, so there's that. When I do it, I do put most of his clothes away, especially shirts and pants that need to go on hangers. Underwear, socks. I may leave certain t-shirts, shorts, etc out because I'm not exactly sure where he prefers to keep them. I'll leave those items on the bed and he will put them away when he gets to it.
Dh usually puts all of my clothes away. I would actually prefer he didn't, to tell the truth, as things often end up in the wrong place. I'd be totally fine with putting my clothes away. It's a small complaint, though. I'm happy that laundry is (more or less) a mutual effort.

No. I wash and fold and bring them to the bedroom. I also don't turn socks inside out. He gets them the way he puts them in the hamper

When we both worked full time, we shared laundry responsibilities. Now I do most of it. He will fold if he see's that I'm folding laundry. I only work part time now, so I usually end up doing laundry when I'm home alone. I'm sure if I waited to do laundry until he was home, then I'm sure he would help more. But I prefer to do it when I first get home from work.

It's just the two of us and I pretty much do all the laundry from start to finish. Once in a while he'll put both of our clothes away and sometimes I'll ask him to do a particular load of laundry. Me too. It's really a case of if you want it done right, do it yourself. Not really a big deal for me; it takes a couple mins. per week.

No, dh works nights, is ADHD and does the laundry, so he puts our clothes away.

We both do the laundry (all of it), fold it, and put it away -- depends on who gets to it first. We'll usually leave the kids' clothes on their bed, but we always put each other's away. Sleep tanks have ended up on hangers in my closet a few times, but that's been the worst of it

No, he prefers that I don't. We usually empty the basket together, each putting away our own stuff.

it's been like this regardless if i work or not
it works well for us
i'm not keen on the weedwacker, tractor, or anything out there like that

It seems if everyone in a household did their own laundry it would be many small loads instead of large loads. Or maybe y'all have a lot more clothes than we do.

Whoever does the laundry, does it through putting away. Laundry is one of those chores that doesn't bother me at all - so unless I'm particularly busy I take care of it. Both of us are pretty organized, so things get put away properly - although occasionally he has trouble distinguishing between mine and my daughter's clothing - which I find hilarious.

If I wash any of my husbands clothes, then I put them away. He's away for 2 weeks every month, so generally he do all the laundry in his suitcase himself, including putting it away. My oldest son does his own laundry as well. I put away clothes for myself & 2 younger kids.

In our house, everyone does his or her own laundry (the kids were fully responsible for theirs starting in 4th grade).
I don't wash, fold, iron or put away any of DH's clothing (except when I was not employed outside the home). I will remove his clothing from the dryer and place if on a hanger if it is still there when I need the dryer.

I couldn't do that.

Laundry is the bane of my existence. So we share the chore and do it together most of the time.

No. If I'm doing laundry (we take turns) I will fold and put his stuff on his side of the bed. Some shirts he likes folded, some he likes on a hanger and he's got his underwear and socks split up among several drawers, I don't know his system. In the same token he does the same for me and I put my stuff where it goes.

No. I find, wash, and dry the laundry. DH is supposed to fold and put it away (or assist the kids) since he hates how I let it pile up and don't put it away.
Of course since giving DH the job so he could do it his way, there are piles of clean laundry and baskets all over my downstairs... At least when I was in charge it was unfolded but in our bedroom where no one could see it...

Usually no, but on occasion I'll empty out the basket with folded socks and underwear in it so I can reclaim it for sorting dirty laundry.

My husband does the cooking, and I do the laundry, including putting his laundry away. I'm pretty sure I got the better end of the deal!

It seems if everyone in a household did their own laundry it would be many small loads instead of large loads. Or maybe y'all have a lot more clothes than we do. There are only three of us. My daughter does her own laundry every Sunday. She sorts out her whites and her running bras and shorts and puts them with mine. She ends up with one load of jeans, sweatshirts, and school uniforms (which are all darks) and they all get washed together. I'll do our whites and running stuff as small loads.

I do all the laundry for DH and me. Each kid (at different times) complained about something I did in the laundry so they were on their own after that.
I love doing something helpful for my husband, and I like doing laundry and seeing it all the way through. He does plenty of other things around the house. I work at home, so it's easier for me to finish it all during the day. I put it all away because I like seeing the empty basket. That, and I can't take a shower until all the shirts are off the shower curtain rod.

Yeah, I do. Unless it's a really big load, then I'll request assistance. For the most part, though, I fold as quickly as possible and zip around the upstairs and put everything away. I like to get it over with

My older kids have done all their own laundry since about age 13. My younger kids put their own clothes away but me or SO wash/fold/dry for them. As far as SO clothes, our laundry is combined and whichever one of us gets to it first does it from wash to put away. I don't mind laundry though and he does all the outside yard work so if he didn't do laundry it would still be "fair" but I'm not volunteering that info 😉
