Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?! Sometimes when I find a design of page protectors that I like that aren't necessarily made for the album I'm using I just make it work lol. Anyone else?

What hole punch do you use? I try but it never looks right. Either the hole is too small or it doesn't punch through or one hole is off making the page buckle! Share your wisdom, please!

Haha, I did this with a 6x8 album and would totally do it again if I needed to. I just used a normal office supply hole punch and trimmed the last bit because the punch wouldn't go all the way through. Worked perfectly! Looks fine, too, but I'm not fussy about that stuff. It might work even better if you cared to put washi tape over the edge and then hole punch it, but that's just a guess.

Just a regular ol' hole punch. I've used my Crop a Dile before too but my regular hole punch does a better job actually and it makes a slightly bigger hole.

All the time! I've a mix of page protectors and albums. For those whose punch doesn't cut cleanly, try putting a piece of paper where you are punching and it seems to cut more cleanly. I often use post-its on the underside as they don't wriggle :-)

Power punch, not Crop-a-Dile, to get the larger hole. I've totally done this and continue to do this when cutting down page protectors to use in unusual-sized albums like 5x7 or vertical 4x6. Life is too short to limit yourself to certain page protectors/companies...

I do this too. Usually use my Crop O Dile.

Yes I do. I recently bought the WRMK hole punch because it makes a larger hole than the Crop A Dile I was using.

I've been doing it for years. I hate when I am just one page protector short for a project, and will do whatever I can to make what I do have work.

I have also done this, especially in my December album. I like to cover the existing holes with washi tape and then re punch holes where I need them.

oh, heck yeah- not very often, but I'll do that to make a page protector fit. I use all different sized page protectors and put them all into my 12x12 d-ring albums. I have a few 6x6 and 8x8 pages in them, even. The 'margin' of the page isn't part of the design, so I don't care if there's extra holes in it.
eta: so far I've used my regular old office hole punch and it's worked okay. I just mark a dot onto the place where the hold should be, and "punch out" the dot.

I have, just using a regular single hole punch.

I did this for my DD last year. Covered up with margin with washi and then re-punched just using an ordinary hole punch.

Has anyone tried the WRMK planner punch? Is it sturdy enough to use on page protectors? Pretty sure I saw a video of someone reviewing it and using it on acrylic sheets. It should work for page protectors. The trick with page protectors is that a punch might slip on the floppy plastic rather than find the material too thick to cut through. In those cases, you're better off backing the PP with some cardstock you're willing to discard and/or washi tape. That usually does the trick for punches that don't like too floppy/flimsy materials.

I totally did this for my 6x8 Disney album. It ended up being too many pages for the Simple Stories album. So I bought this gigantic 3 ring pleather 6x8 album at Hobby Lobby. No one notices the extra holes in the PP!
The trick to back the page protector with some cardstock is a really good one.
I'm pretty sure I have the Power Punch as recommended by Peas in the past.

I did this recently. The page protectors I bought fit but it was a tight fit and I didn't want to fight with them to turn pages forever so I used my hole punch to make the hole a little longer. Problem solved.

I've been doing this for years. I use whatever punch size hole punch seems to best match. But I also figure most people viewing my albums won't even notice if the page protector hole sizes don't all match.

Guilty as well. I use the crop- o-dile 2 with no problems.

I've been a three ring binder scrapper since the beginning. I've done it quite a bit, 20 years later they're still in the book without problems.
