I need some advice!
I am on hormonal pellets and as a result, I am dealing with acne for the first time in my life. I know its hormonal because its on my chin and jawline, and goes away when my pellets are done.
What can I do to treat them? Anyone know of anything that works like a charm?

Spironolactone. I've taken it for years and never have any acne issues at all. It is typically used for blood pressure / fluid overload but has an off-label use for adult hormonal acne. The BP dose is usually 25mg but the acne dose is 100mg per day.
I would also look into your diet. A lot of caseins are believed to cause acne at the jawline and chin area.
good luck! meredith

I went through menopause at 24 and am now on hormone pellets to stabilize my hormones. They insert a pellet (or two) just underneath your skin and it slow releases hormones for 4 months. Total game changer for me (even with acne like I am 13...). SaveSave

When I had something similar I went on a very low dose of doxycycline for about a year. It worked really well without any side effects and then I weaned off of it slowly and the problem never came back.

I have hormonal acne along my jawline because I have hormonal migraines. I used to be on birth control pills and didn't have the ance but had the mirgraines. Now my jaw breaks out all month long. I eat fairly clean, not perfect by any means. But I don't eat any fast food or much processed I limit my sugar and am almost gluten free.
Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't think there was anything I could really do. I will talk to my doctor. I don't like be 40 years old and have pimples all the time. If it was a pimple during my period I could handle it's way more than that.

I was using over the counter junk but nothing seemed to work so hopefully this prescription will.

I did have a little bit of an adjustment period but I woke up one day and my skin was totally cleared up. I didn't have horrible acne but did have the deep, cystic acne. Of course, we can't keep our fingers off of our face so.... Good luck! SaveSave
