So, I have a couple of long tops I want to wear capri length leggings with. The problem is that I am short so the leggings I find in the hosiery section are way too long for me. I have a couple of athletic capri length leggings that are the right length, BUT ... Is it OK to wear athletic leggings with regular tops? I guess my hangup is that I consider these "athletic wear" and wonder if people will look at me with a funny eye if I wear them with street clothing. What say the fashion knowledgeable peas? Thanks!

I say unless you're planning to wear them to a fancy social event, go with it! Wear what you're comfortable in and what makes you feel good.

If they are just black I don't think anyone will notice that they are athletic leggings.

really, to me, the only difference between "fashion" leggings and "athletic" leggings is the waistband. if you are planning to wear with a longer top or tunic, no one would notice that. unless they are those mesh panelled athletic leggings, i might stay away from those!

Is there really much difference between fashion ones and athletic ones apart from fabric? I wouldn't want to look too shiny but other than that...?

Some athletic leggings have a bit of a sheen, that's the only thing that would make me avoid wearing them. But, if they are matte, I would totally go for it.

I'm short also so I have worn black athletic leggings in this scenario also. I just avoid the really shiny kind.

I actually just posted this very ?? on FB. Since I just had surgery I wasn't sure what I can put around my waist. I'm the same I'm super short. I don't even fit petite size. so I can do caprise they are like regular pants on me. lol! But I have seen a few online so I'm thinking about it. Right now I'm just wearing loose yoga shorts that I've had and they are great for PT and post surgery so they've been my lounge pants. BUt I don't think I want to wear them when I get out and about, which I'm finally feeling like doing. If you find some that work let me know where you get them.

I think it's fine unless they say adidas along the sides or something like that. I have a pair of regular leggings and they look like the same material as gym leggings, but they have a compression panel, so they look good with clothes so I say they're all fair game unless they're clearly marked for sport with giant logos.

If they are plain black leggings that don't have any extra stitching, panels or other things that make it obvious that they are athletic pants, they are probably ok. But otherwise I would say no. I am short and got some cheap Capri leggings on amazon.
