I'm looking for (if it exists) an audio book app that will let you return books you've read and check out new ones all for one price per month. DH has a store in the town he works in that offers this service with CDs. I thought audible at amazon was similar, but it looks like you buy the book (getting 1 credit for the book per month). If I can listen to a book while canning, folding laundry, scrapbooking, or cooking, then I can get through more than 1 book per month.
Thanks.

Use the app Overdrive
You select your local library and log in with your library card
You can get e-books and audiobooks-on loan - some have a wait list but worth it since the books are free

My library uses both overdrive and RBdigital. The latter often has books that are not on overdrive.

One more tip. We work in a different county from where we live. So we got memberships at both county libraries. It's been nice as often one has a series that the other doesn't, even though both are transacted through overdrive. In our area we don't have to live (or work) in the county to have a library card. You might want to check that out.

Some libraries are now using Cloud Library instead of Overdrive. I prefer Overdrive, but you would need to find out which your library uses. Both can be used to check out ebooks as well as audiobooks.

I guess I'll have to go get a county library card. 😂 I'm on the cusp of 3 counties. With the major towns for each being equal distant. So I have the library cards for the 2 counties that I frequent but not the one I live in. For overdrive you have to have the county card, so I just kind of forgot about it as an option. Think I'll make a plan to go next week.

playster.com may be an option. From what I've seen, it's $14.95/month for unlimited downloads. You only rent the books, you don't own them and, of course, your access to them ends when you end your membership.
I haven't tried this service. I have an Audible account with a lot of books that we've bought over the years. I also have a Kindle Unlimited subscription that has narration available on some of the books. I use Overview thru my library, too. I am seriously considering finding another library system to subscribe to as ours has very few books in the fantasy and paranormal genres available, in audio or in digital.
