I picked up a lovely, large terrarium at a flea market (yeah!) But it will hold a lot of plants. I was hoping to combine some faux succulents with a smaller amount of real plants to get started and for over the winter. Just this summer, Target had a lot of faux succulents that could be arranged different ways, and they used to have a permanent section of these that I thought looked passable. Turns out, they have recently gotten rid of those! I checked HomeGoods, but those were esp. plastic-y, and they didn't have much.
Do you have any good sources for decently real faux small plants and succulents? Michaels? JoAnn? Hobby Lobby? I will check those but I don't know about succulents and I'm worried about the plastic-y look as that is my general impression of plants from there (but I haven't looked at them in so long). Online? Etsy? The planters do not need to be fancy, as they'll be with others in this terrarium, or they can be planter-free and I can plant into plain clay pots.

Hobby Lobby has some decent ones. But honestly, real ones are VERY easy to keep alive. I got s bunch at Walmart recently...

My Target had some new ones on Monday when I was there.
Pottery Barn Crate & Barrel
I would also check Amazon & Etsy.

How about Air plants. You can buy them at garden centres.

I think I saw some fake ones at IKEA about a month ago. I'm not sure about how real looking they are though because I didn't look closely. I've bought live ones there before too, but the live plants seem to vary each time I go there so they might or might not have any.

IKEA's succulents are real and pretty cheap. Why not just use the real thing. They aren't hard to grow.

These are awesome ideas!! I had not thought of these, so thank you!
I will definitely check out all these sources. Who knew Walmart had succulents? I probably shouldn't be surprised, just didn't think of it as I rarely go there. I'll for sure go see what they have at Hobby Lobby. And I didn't think of Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel, or TJMaxx. And IKEA--of course! I forgot they had real little plants, but I think they do have faux mixed in there too, and the prices are right there. I also didn't think of air plants, and don't know how to grow them--but this may be the right time to learn as this terrarium has some height to it and that might look beautiful to fill out the space.
That would be great if Target got more in--that is hopeful to hear. I thought they were nice there, will have to keep checking.
Thanks for all your help and replies!

I bought one at Target. It came potted in a small planter. I set it in my garden window and caught dh watering it shortly after. He thought I was lying when I told him it wasn't real.
