So, as a child of the 80's I watched and was terrified by this movie about 50 times over. We would rent this movie probably once a month and every single time it freaked us right the hell out- and we loved it. I just saw a promo for the remake and I was excited but annoyed at the same time. I will totally watch it, and I am excited it Is supposed to darker then the original (which I have totally seen recently and obviously it isn't nearly as scary as I thought), but I am torn about a remake. I don't like Angelica Huston though, so that will be the hardest part for me. In any event, anyone else remember this movie? Anyone else seen it recently? Anyone excited about the remake?

This movie is always my answer to which movie gave you nightmares for a year when you were a kid. It still sufficiently haunts me to this day. Can't wait to see the remake.

It's always my answer, too. I still have occasional nightmares about the original movie & never enter any room that may have a mirror without turning on a light. I refuse to see the remake...

I haven't seen any news about a remake. Who in the world will play Bette Davis's part?
This was one of my sister and I's favorite scary movies.
I hate remakes! Does no one out there have an original idea?

It's a Lifetime movie, not a theatrical release, but they actually got Anjelica Huston for the Bette Davis role--pretty impressive!

Oh, and.i actually enjoy remakes. I agree that sometimes they can be pointless or very bad, but sometimes they provide a fresh telling. We just watched the 1980s remake of The Fly last night. My dd had never seen either version. I love Vincent Price and the original, but David Croninerg did a fantastic job with Jeff Goldblum and the remake.
I'm looking forward to this one. I watched the original Watcher just a few yrpears ago based on how much all of you loved it and I wasn't impressed (ducks and hides!). Maybe you had to watch it in the 89s as a kid to really appreciate it.

I still love it, but I know if I saw it for the first time as an adult I would have been unimpressed. It is too bad you can't go back and watch it as a child in the 80's, because it was just sooooooo good!!!

I'm looking forward to the remake. Don't have cable, though, so I'm not sure when I'll get to see it.
