Is like to get some for our house/rooms. I like the idea of them cleaning the air of some things and adding oxygen.
But I don't know where to buy them. Sometimes lowes and home depot had them, but is there anywhere else?

I don't buy them because I have too many cats that like to chew them. But I see so many I'd like to have at Home Depot and Lowe's! The grocery store, Wal-Mart, KMart, all sorts of local garden centers have so many gorgeous plants.

Do you have any nurseries nearby? Also check CL's. I see people selling their houseplants all the time.

My town has a couple of nursery/garden centers. If you haven't noticed one where you live maybe just google your city name garden center and see what pops up.

Dh and I just talked about this today. We have to let go of an English Ivy I’ve had for close to 20 years. Apparently it didn’t like our new home (well, it’s been a year and it’s slowly deteriorated over the year).
What house use plants do you recommend for low light?

Sanseveria and the ZZ plant are both great for low light

I'd start with Walmart, Lowe's, and the Home Depot. I've bought from nurseries too, but mostly from stores I regularly go to.

Most florists carry houseplants.

Ikea has a nice assortment for low prices. I also take cuttings from garden plants in the fall and keep them going all winter as house plants, ready to plant outside in warmer weather -- coleus, scented geraniums, some herbs,

My dd works at a neighborhood nursery so we go with what she recommends. However, we belong to our local nextdoor.com and many neighbors are always giving away starts and mature plants.

Walmart has some but you have to get there before they kill them... they take horrible care of them at my location including being infested with insects and or dried out. Lowe's has them too and they take slightly better care than Walmart. There is also a local place that specializes in plants not diapers, food, or lumber that has gorgeous plants in unique varieties at good prices. They are so well cared for and look so happy and healthy in the store that I do not want to take them to my house which is a down-grade from their huge gorgeous greenhouse.

I don't think we've ever bought a houseplant in the 30+ years DH and I have been together. Some of them were given to us for various occasions, some we ended up with after my mom and MIL passed away. For a really nice houseplant I would go to a florist. Many of the grocery stores around here sell a selection of indoor plants too where they have the cards, balloons and readymade bouquets. Most of the nursery type places and hardware stores around here typically sell outdoor plants not indoor ones.
