My selphy pictures are looking amazing lately. I wonder if they've changed anything in the paper/ink packs?!? Anyone else noticing any difference? I printed a bunch of photos today and the colors were really bright and warm. Either that, or I've managed the tuning of the pix for the printer, but I don't think I'm doing anything different than I ever have.
I'm happy!

I've only had my Selphy since last autumn so that might explain why I haven't noticed any changes. But I've always been happy with the bright warm colours of my Selphy prints. Looks like I might have been blessed with receiving only the recent ink + paper packs (if there is indeed such a thing) from Amazon? The overall printing quality has always seemed completely fine and more than acceptable to me.

I really don't like my Selphy compared to my Charm. I'm using up the ink packs on a project that doesn't need perfection. I will then get rid of the printer and look into getting the newer version of the Charm. I find my prints are much more vibrant and I like a true 4x6 print.

I must have gotten a bad pack of paper & ink. I bought it awhile ago, when I got my Selphy, and the first pack was great. This last pack (108 prints) is just terrible. I've had to brighten my photos a lot, and the color looks very dull. Do you think it goes bad or gets stale? I'm going to order a new pack and see if it makes any difference.

I haven't had any Selphy ink and paper gone unused for longer than three to tops four months. I have also only purchased them straight from Amazon (France), not a third party seller. I'm not 100% sure whether the special paper needed for the subsequent dye processes is actually more fragile and sensitive than regular photo paper to environmental factors but I'd guess so since it is so unforgiving of finger prints (before printing), dust specks, etc.

I've been using packs that expired in 2014! They print just fine.

My Selphy puts little white dots across the top of my photos. it messes up the picture (especially when they appear across someone's forehead). I cannot figure out why or what to do about it. Anyone know anything to help me?

Anyone know anything to help me? Weird. That's one I've not seen. Did it always do this? Or just start at some point? I would call Canon. They're pretty good at CS.

Anyone know anything to help me? I've heard of the line of doom with the Selphy CP900 but I believe it's on the side, just a little off the perforated edge. There was no miracle cure for it from the convo I remember reading about it. I would definitely reach out to Canon about this.

I am happy enough but not overjoyed with mine. I have had it about 2 years now. My pictures have always seemed "soft" and darker than they appeared on my phone. I also hate the hoops to jump through to get a good print. That might be because I haven't used it in awhile. But I was trying to get pictures of my DS at A School. It either printed too large and "off the paper" or I would add a border to get the entire picture and those borders are just too large. I want a thin 1/8 inch(ish) border on my prints, not that honking big white border I get on my Selphy. I have 2 more paper packs to get through. Maybe 3. When I get down to those being gone, I may look into the Charm. I have heard nothing but good things about that printer.

I may look into the Charm. I have heard nothing but good things about that printer. The Charm has been discontinued a while back. It's been replaced by a new (and much smaller!) edition (PM-400) of the PictureMate since. There's always people going on about the Epson PM when somebody brings up the Selphy. I get it. It's the better printer. But it's at least double the price, not a dye process and, most importantly, only available in North America. Some crafters do not have the luxury of paying much more for a home printer than a Selphy or don't live in the US/Canada... I always brighten, sharpen and add a touch of colour saturation before printing off the Selphy. I highly recommend this very easy and quick process. Heck, I even turn off the automatic colour balance adjustment preset on my Selphy before I print or it's too bright for certain colours. Also, depending on how bright you've set your phone screen, it will very likely always look significantly brighter on screen than what you print (except if you're using your phone on battery saving mode) regardless of the printer you use.

I do edit some photos but I just want to be able to print and go. I think what bothers me most is the softness of the photo. AND I am probably the only one that notices it but I can print a photo at home with my Selphy and then order the same photo online to be processed, when side by side you notice a difference.

Just to give an idea of what my Selphy prints look like, I took out a few 3x4 photos from my PL and snapped a quick photo on my phone. It's late over here and completely dark so this is under a normal artificial light, no flash. For my Project Life documenting, this is definitely satisfying enough for me. Attachments:

That's how mine are looking too - since I opened the new box of dye/paper. Before that, the tones were definitely cooler. Hmmm..
I hope it stays like this. Like you, they're good enough for me and I LOVE not having to print ahead and being able to decide the size at the last minute. But the fact that they look great now is an added bonus.
