thats funny - from the picture of the dress I would have said way to young for anyone over mid 30s, but seeing it on you - WOW - you make it look fabulous and not too young at all. I totally get what you're saying. When I tried it on I liked it. When I went home and looked it up on line I thought it was geared towards the late 20s crowd.

You look adorable in it -- and you look like you are maybe in your 30s at the most! Def wear it.

Definately get it! It looks super on you. I would wear the black jacket (cardigan?) with it though.

LOVE the dress. You look fabulous--and not in your mid 40s. Buy the beaded wrap. You'll wear it so much. The bolero jacket is also super cute and flattering, and you'll also get a ton of usage out of it. I also love both pairs of shoes, but for winter, I think showstopping pumps would be more weather appropriate and could be worn with stockings. I love pashminas/wraps/scarves. You can drape them so many different ways--more covered up for the ceremony, later draped on your shoulders or down your arms. Here's a YouTube style your pashmina --she shows you how to tie the pashmina ends behind your back to keep the wrap in place. I'd find a gorgeous brooch to keep the wrap pinned in place --if you switch to the bolero, you can pin on the brooch to dress it up if you want. I love Art Deco geometrical shaped brooches-- love this one diamond silver and pearl brooch and this black pearl swoop I have a similar art deco bow I bought off Ebay and got a similar version (in rose gold) of this star at TJ Maxx last winter. I've pinned brooches to my handbag, clipped them on necklaces, and used them as hair pins. I love layers because I get hot and cold, so I have a lot of cardigans and wraps. I also love how a pretty patterned wrap or a silk scarf can add interest and a pop of colour to your outfit. A brooch adds interest and keeps your scarf right where you want it. When it's a bit chilly but I'd be too hot in a coat, I love to drape my pashmina over a cardigan like this. When I do wear a blazer or coat and take it off inside, I love to wear my wrap like this. There's so many different ways to style a pasmina, and they're so comfortable! Sooo soft and warm. I've even used them as an impromptu blanket in cold doctor's offices, etc. I have a long strand of black freshwater like these pearls . I'd be dying to wear them with this dress. There's a ton on Etsy and aren't expensive. There's a ton of lengths and styles, too. I love how people layer different styles together--classic strands with the tin cup and floating tin cup. Even tying the long strands with a pretty velvet or grosgrain ribbon to shorten them and/or clip a brooch to them. There's so many cool things you could do with this dress and accessories and get so much life out of all the pieces afterward! That's why I love the capsule wardrobe with fewer clothing pieces that are great quality that I love and wear all the time. Then I focus on finding pretty accessories that go with my wardrobe colours to change the looks--everything works together, I can throw something on in 5 minutes and still look put together, and I get to look for pretty, shiny things and gorgeous scarves on Ebay and Etsy as well as thrift stores. There's some great deals out there if you're willing to search.

For me, I'd be more concerned about my body shape than my age.

You look fabulous. Wear it! I like the shoes in the last photo.
I was at a wedding yesterday with many women in their mid-50s to mid-60s. I only thought one woman wore a dress too young (DH agreed). I thought more wore dressed too OLD for them, LOL.

I love the dress. It looks great on you! I like the shoes in photos #1 and #2 best (Yes, I realize they're the same pair.) I also like the shrug better than the wrap. For jewelery, I'd go with pearls.

I love the dress with the wrap and think it's very appropriate. I think a shoe that isn't solid black might look good with it, like I posted above. Those are just ideas I found on a quick search.

Not from my phone. I'll try from my iPad. You can from your phone, you just need to be in desktop mode, which you can access at the very bottom, right hand side of the page. Thanks for posting this. I only ever get in here from my phone so I never post pics. The dress looks great btw.

OMGOSH that is so cute on you! Perfect on you! (this coming from the girl who has a closet full of dresses with tags because I buy them and love them in store and then get home and think they're too 'young' for me.) I think this is precious and perfectly appropriate!! have fun!

Thanks everyone. Now dd and I are taken care of. I need Dh to go shopping which is just argument after argument in our house 😡. And little dd needs a dress. But little girls are so much easier! Jos A Banks has some good deals during their sales and have in-house alterations. I've gotten a lot of dh's dressy clothes from Nordstrom Rack--he's tall and hard to fit--42L Nordstrom's frequent shopper program (rack, Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com, Haute Look, and Nordstromrack.com) includes $100 a year in free alterations for all clothes, not just what you buy there. They also include free private shopper service. Call for an appointment and tell the shopper your dh's size, budget, and what you're looking for. It's all ready to try on. Sounds painless to me--I'd bribe dh with dinner.

I think the dress looks nice and I like it with the wrap! Then of course I'd ditch the wrap for the party part of the party.
