Did you watch?
I hope it is better online than it was tonight. The only character I like was sarek. I don't think we will be buying into that all access.

I started watching it but then turned it off when I learned that all subsequent episodes will be through CBS All Access. Which we have to pay for! Um, no thank you. Why would I pay for All Access (for only one show at that) when I already have cable TV?

We get it through Netflix here, but I only realised that this morning. I'll give it a try - I've liked most of the other Star Trek series and the movies.

I was all set to watch it until dh reminded me this show was going to be an online show only through a paid subscription. Huh? No. I get what they wanted to do but I wasn't falling for it. It's going to fail because not everyone is willing to pay.

Well I watched it on the Space channel, which is part of my subscription already, but I'm in Canada so I don't know if its the same in the US. I liked it. I'm a huge ST fan and own all the collections on dvd (which this will be added to) The characters were interesting to me and I like how they are unfolding their individual stories. Not sure how I feel about the Klingon dialect...seems a little smooth to me but I will give props to the actors who had to learn Klingon. Looking forward to next week's show.

Many of us have cut the cable entirely and pay for only the channels or shows we want to watch. This will likely be the same. I haven’t re-subscribed to CBS All Access yet, but will do so as soon as I have time to watch this show.

I watched the premiere episode last night. It wasn't good enough for me to want to pay for the series. I will wait until the series is finished for the season and then I'll do the one week free trial of CBS Access. I'll binge watch and then cancel. FTR, I am a major Trekkie, watched from the first episode of the first series and have attended conventions and met many of the stars. I was honestly disappointed in last night's episode.

I think it might depend what country you are in. My son watched it on Netflix in Australia, and I can watch it in Germany, but then, we don't have CBS here.

That explains it - evidently Netflix in the USA doesn't have it. Thanks for answering my question!
