Hmmm....if I were going to add something I would want it to be something that would not be considered junk to throw away once I got home. While story stones would not be junk in my mind, I just don't see me using them at home. I saw the phrase, "Heal yourself, heal the world." That gave me the idea of making a mini first aid kit. kind of a little tiny coin purse with small first aid items in it, like a band aid or two, a couple of aspirin and a rolaids. That would be something I would keep in my purse for a long time and I would replenish the items in it. I would not have to be expensive. You could do the straw trick for first aid ointment, roll aspirn in tin foil etc. The containers could be pill bottles, altoid tins, little zipper bags, or small boxes.

Is thie camp bag something everyone gets to take home after the camp is over? Sort of like a souvenir?
The camp stones look cool and are creative. However, I always appreciate "consumable" items over something that has to be stored or displayed (of course, many others will feel differently).
If you wanted to gift something consumable how about making cupcake fire starters or mulling spices for cider?

While I love this idea, I personally wouldn't use aspirin or ointment outside it's original container so I'd see about getting those little mini packs of neosporin/aspirin/alcohol wipes/etc. I'm sure you could probably find them on Amazon or maybe a medical supply store. Kinda depends on how many you need to make and what your budget it.

I go to art retreats every year, and everyone brings something to share. I love the idea of rocks. You might consider putting a word on each one that goes along with the Life is a Verb theme of being mindful, like Gratitude, Respect, Awareness, Awakening, Presence, Intention, Purpose, Stillness, Relax, Unplug, Serenity, Simplicity, etc. I have several small painted rocks in my house and I put a few in the guest bathroom, I use on on paper napkins when we have guests outside, and I sometimes give one to people as they leave, especially if they have a word that is especially meaningful to that person. (Health, comfort, Love, etc.)

How about the painted rocks that people leave for people to find?

I think the story rocks are adorable. I'm not sure I'm understanding what this camp bag thing is about though. Like other posters, I don't know if you leave the item there for future campers to use or if it is something that everyone takes home with them. If it is something you leave there, I think your rock idea is cute. I also like the little purse first aid kit, provided the items are in their original containers, as suggested above. I absolutely love the idea of adult camp! I want to go too now! And I looked quickly at some of the things that will be happening and I see that Neil Hilborn will be there. I have listened to a few of his pieces and they are amazing.

The camp it is held at is beautiful and the community of people it brings together is amazing. I highly recommend it! I missed the last 2 years and am very excited to be going back. So the bags are things you receive to take home. In the past they have been things like a beautiful hand painted coaster, a small firecracker chocolate bar, bookmarks, a tiny book, poetry, and often rocks with words on them as @peapsie described. I love the little first aid bag ideas! nlwilkins I will have to see if I can figure out something that I can use. There are about 100-137 people who attend each year... people bring things to donate in groups of 20 so you don't have to try and make 100 or more!

I like to use the computer when making mass trinkets for strangers. It's easy to make it seasonal and specific to the event. What about combining ScrapbookMyLife 's ideas? Make a postcard with cut slots for holding a tin of mints, or something else useful like a small roll of Advil or toothpaste. Maybe it's my stage of life, I don't like to spend a lot of time on handmade items if I don't know the recipient appreciates it, and I'd rather receive a consumable than a trinket. I also feel guilty when I know someone spent time on a handmade gift, but it's not my style.
