And it needs to be cheap but good. Any recommendations? For the record, I do very little ironing. Very little. But today when my capris were wrinkled and my son needed a collared shirt, I needed it. Normally, I buy the kind of stuff you can just fluff in the dryer!

I think since you want cheap and good just go to the store and compare. Maybe BBB and use a coupon. Get the most watts for the least price. Or even Target. They have them also.

We have a Shark iron that I really like. DH actually picked it out and brought it home a couple of years ago. It does a great job.

When I was researching irons (I am a quilter, an iron is a critical thing) I found the reviews for the Black & Decker Digital Advantage were as close to a Rowenta as I could get and still pay a reasonable amount. I think the digital advantage was about $40 and I love it. Good weight, good steam, easy to clean the soleplate. There are a couple of version of the Black & Decker, one is cheaper but you don't want that one. For whatever reason when you move up just a bit in price you get a much better iron. I just looked at Amazon and it says, "You purchased this item on April 12, 2007." Am still using it. So... a.co/aMzyJGU

I have used Rowenta over the past 12+ years after always having bad luck with Black and Decker. Really LOVE Rowenta's.
