Just received this. Here's the link and the body of the post. I will miss this show but I wish them all the best. link"It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place. This has been an amazing adventure! We have poured our blood, sweat and tears into this show. We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses. We are really, really proud of season 5. We laid it all on the field and didn’t hold anything back. We think it’s the perfect finale to this amazing journey we’ve been on. Season 5 begins in November and Behind the Design will follow shortly after. There’s so much good, new stuff coming your way! Though our Fixer Upper chapter is coming to a close, we aren’t done with Waco. We aren’t done renovating homes. We aren’t done designing things to make your home your favorite place on earth. We aren’t done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these of things, we are just getting started. Who knows what the future holds, but we’re excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch. We will forever be thankful for HGTV and this opportunity of a lifetime. We are also thankful to our production company, Highnoon Entertainment and our amazing producers and crew on the ground here in Waco. We are grateful for them and for you. Thank you for sharing life with us and for the continued support. Thank you for having our backs! Thank you for caring about these homes and these families and the things that we care so much about. Really, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Chip and Jo"

Now she can divorce that dufus man-child and move on!
Seriously I can't stand him and I don't know how she puts up with him. Since she's not twelve, I don't get the attraction.
Maybe I'm prejudiced because he reminds me so much of my friend's ex. Even looks like him.

Will miss the show, but it's nice to see people put their family first. The show provided many creative and financial avenues. I don't think they ever set out for fame so good for them for walking away to focus on things they value.

She's probably going to work more on her merchandising. Loved their show and especially Jo's style.

I quit watching the show because I could not stand him. I did not find him to be cute or funny. I wish them well in whatever they choose to do in the future.

I am glad they are calling it quits when they felt they needed to. Life happens. I have loved the show. I will miss it, but honestly, the houses, while gorgeous all look just about the same. Hopefully this will give another newcomer a shot at their television stardom.
I do wonder if he acts like that off camera. His kids adore him and so does Joanna. I guess that is what matters.

I love the show, it's one of my favorites. I like them, they look like such a great family. I enjoy Chip, he doesn't bother me at all...probably because she seems to enjoy his sense of humor.

It'll be nice to turn on #HGTV and not hear "shiplap", "shiplap", "oh, Chip, stop", "shiplap".

because of the way they are growing their business empire and brand, i don't think it's worth their time to do the show anymore. i know it's what made their business explode but now that they have established themselves, i can understand why it would not make good use of their time anymore. as far as saying they want to spend more time with their family, i cry BS. i think they want to focus more on their businesses.

I'm sure he turns it up for the cameras. I'm happy for them.

I makes me happy to hear they are putting their family first! Also, I always liked they stayed in their area to do the homes. Did anyone watch the one show about renovating Detroit old homes? I can't remember the name right now. I think there's something special about renovators when some people in different parts of the country wishing they would move to their community to do renovations. Granted, I hate shiplap now because it was said eighty billion times!

I am crazy about Chip and I'm married to a guy very much like him. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Whatever they choose to do I wish them well. I have enjoyed their show. Good for them they've been so successful.

I wish them happiness. It does seem that they've got their interests spread out a LOT. They have furniture, lines in BBB, will be in Target, the Silo, continued work in the Waco area. I don't blame them for dialing it back. How does she find the time?!? I admire that kind of time management while still maintaining a strong family commitment.

I like Chip too. My husband is a goofy, fun loving guy who would turn it up for the cameras like Chip does.
I will probably never get to see season 4 or 5, but I enjoyed the seasons they had on Netflix. They were fun to watch and I loved their projects.

My dvr says there are new shows coming up.

Although I've neither watched an entire episode of this show nor turned on HGTV in over a year, I wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
I've seen several of her brand's furniture pieces at HomeGoods. While a parade of shoppers comment about them (which is admittedly the only reason I've noticed, since I'm merely passing by/not shopping for/need furniture), no one buys them! They're still there weeks later in the clearance section. I'm uncertain if its the style, colors, quality, & or other factor(s) that don't appeal to buyers here.

They actually have a book (that I read) and it seems HE is actually steering the ship. She has the vision but he is directing where they will go. He is a big risk taker business-wise but she trusts and follows him. They seem super traditional (from the book) and kind of a "husband leads" kind of thing. I would be shocked if they divorce, I think they are very committed to their marriage and family. I do think it may be good for the children to not have the show filming and such. They can run with their businesses and the kids can live more out of the public eye.

I don't know who is in charge but I 'think??' he has a degree in business from Baylor, if I am not mistaken. He plays the funny guy role and I'm sure that he is a laid back guy in real life but I think he also has a serious side that is business. From what plays on the show Joanna seems to adore him as cheesy as he acts sometimes!

Ahhh.....another show I like to watch goes away. Rats! Although, after what my dd told me this week, it has lost a little of its appeal. DD is a landscape architect student at A&M. A landscape architect from Waco came to the school last week and she had a chance to talk to him. Seems he did some landscape design work for one of the shows....and he had some not so nice things to say about JoJo....Seems she is a bit of a diva when it comes to her opinions. They had to rework a lot of the yard because when she "signed off" on the design plans they weren't in color, so she didn't like it anymore after the plantings were all done. It all had to be done for "show"...not practicality or sustainability apparently. But I'm sure that is true for all of these types of shows.

I have no idea what Chip and Jo are like in real life, but I've always thought the show was entertaining, even though it was always predictable. I think they are smart to quit while their show is still popular.

I don't believe for one minute that they are dialing back. They have their hands in so many business adventures...shop, bakery, restaurant, rental property, merchandise for several retailers. They have too much going on and the tv show isn't as lucrative. Why do a tv show when you can sell a $250 pillow? I loved the show and will miss it, but I don't believe they will scale back. Also, there is NO way she designs all the furniture and decorative items. There have to be many behind the scene supporting and making some design decisions.

I find both of them to be enjoyable BUT I was real sick of the show. It got old and their schtick got too predictable. And her decor ideas got too predictable too. They have so many businesses going that I suspect the tv show was becoming less and less important to them. Now if the property brothers would just disappear...I am truly sick of them. I hated the new show this summer, Good Bones. The mother daughter team was very scripted.

I went to their "silos" in Waco and was so disappointed. Tons and tons of expensive fake flowers and massed produced stuff measuring cups. Nothing unique at all and almost no furniture. T-shirts & touristy things galore. Complete waste of time. I think I bought a postcard for my PL and that was it. A few other folks in our group bought like a wood sign or something but almost no one bought anything. The cupcakes were good but not mind-blowing. I did think the yard set-up they had was fun with games and food trucks but that's not worth a couple hour drive. I'm hoping they will have some better stuff in their new line at Target but who knows. I liked the show fine, but haven't watched a single episode since visiting the store.
