Today I have another appointment in the big city. That means up and at 'em way too early. It also means tacos for dinner. I'm quite sure I'll be ready for a long nap when I get home.
What's on your menu?
Have a great day.

I am making cottage pie for my dinner tonight. Probably for tomorrow night to, if the truth be told, as I have 400g of meat and will add veggies and mashed potatoes to that.
I had my anaesthetics appointment this morning so now everything is in place for my surgery in 2 weeks. I am most likely going to have the procedure done under a spinal anaesthetic - the doctor I spoke to said they prefer to do that as recovery is quicker. They will lightly sedate me and put up a screen, so I won't see or hear anything. Now everything is planned, I am feeling very calm about it all.

Hoping the 2 weeks move peacefully for you sueg. I am not sure what is for dinner tonight. I think I should just head over to quiltz house to see if she still has some leftovers. At least the wine... Who needs food? Saturday is SO's birthday, I have been planning a surprise party pretty much all month and boy am I ready for this to be over!! I am not a party planner and I am a little stressed. LOL His sister is helping with some of it as I can't be there prior to him getting to the venue. Looks like we will have at least 50 people, so this should make him happy. He mentioned a long time ago what he wanted for this birthday was for everyone to celebrate with him. Well, he's getting it! His brother is coming in, too. And I think that will really make him happy.

I informed SO that he was on his own. I forgot to plan a meal for tonight, so when looking at my option I decided I’m going to have some Trader Joe’s pumpkin waffles for dinner. So, he can fend for himself. I even gave him options of what we have in the house that he could prepare. (I’m too nice) 😉

Good luck at your appointment Scrapmaven. Hope all goes well.
Tonight is ds' PTA Reflections Awards night. So I need an easy dinner. So Honey Garlic Meatballs with brown sugar cinnamon glazed carrots, and pasta it is! Just baked 28 ground turkey meatballs, made the sauce (I like to do that so the flavors melt together), and have the carrots sliced.
When it is close to dinner, I just have to warm up the meatballs in the sauce and cook the carrots and pasta.

Hope you continue to remain calm!

sueg, I really hope your surgery goes well and that your recovery isn't too bad and you can while away your healing time with relaxing pursuits. Tonight is shrimp scampi linguine. One of my DS's favorites.

I had both of my dd's as c-sections where I was awake sueg ... it is freaky being operated on while awake but really no big deal I told the anaesthetist that my main issue was that I didn't want to hear what was going on! She assured me that with the sedation, I'd be fine. I have had an epidural before - I needed a minor procedure after my second son was born and it was quicker and easier than getting me to theater for a full anaesthetic. But that time, it was the middle of the night, and I had just had a baby and lost a lot of blood, so I pretty much was out of it anyway.

Tonight's going to be leftover Italian night... we have pasta, pizza, and I think some garlic bread. And salad. And that's all I've got to say about that! lol

Best wishes for a successful surgery sueg. I hope it goes smoothly. I think tonight could be a prawn night. I will get some fresh pasta, salad, avocado, tomato and asparagus maybe? That sounds good doesn't it?

Your calmness comes through in your post, sueg. Best of luck getting through the last minute party plans, scrappert! We threw a surprise 50th for DH a few years ago and the hardest part was not sharing who was coming in advance. Tonight we are having Italian chicken sausages with a tomato/spinach sauce over pasta. I might toss a simple salad to go with it.

I'm trying a new low carb recipe in the crockpot. It's chicken with an alfredo like sauce. Crossing my fingers that it's good. I'm steaming broccoli to go with it.

Best wishes, sueg. Dinner was another "throw everything in the pot and keep your fingers crossed". I hate wasting food, so whenever there's a little bit of this and a little bit of that in the fridge and freezer, everything goes into a stew, and with spices, it mostly turns out good.

hardest part was not sharing who was coming in advance. Exactly! There have been a few times I was getting ready to say something about what we are eating and who's coming. hot ham and swiss sandwiches That sounds perfect for me for dinner!

Sueg- I hope it goes well. That anesthesia is much better for you.
We have a full day traveling back home so we will eat airport food.
I took this whole week off and my work is already texting me to work tomorrow. I said no. I slept terrible all week and we start moving our boxes Saturday. Hopefully the painters are done.

My son ended up bringing over Mexican food yesterday, so tonight will be last night's planned fried rice. We're also going to try to watch the premiere of Young Sheldon (the 8yo and me) because, ta-da, no TKD for us! We're going on Friday night instead, for belt testing. I will no doubt post a pic. scrapmaven, wishing you a non-stressful and -tiring day. Make sure you get a nap. sueg, so glad everything sounds under control. Not going completely under is always way better (and easier recovery) than being totally knocked out. scrappert, ooooh, sounds fun. Be sure to report back on Sunday about how it went.

Yoga night for me = PBJ. I sometimes don't want to go to yoga after a long day, but I push myself out the door and it's always worth it. It's a calm island in the middle of my week. DH will fend. sueg, your calm acceptance should hasten your recovery. scrappert, good luck with your party. All your hard work will pay off. lucyg, enjoy your rare night at home.

It's almost 80° here on the coast and no wind!
Can we just have ice cream for dinner?!
Ok, we will have some for an after school snack instead 😬
Dinner will be chicken salad sandwiches. Good thing I thought ahead and cooked the chicken this morning. Too hot turn the oven back on. I'm going to throw a pasta salad together before I pick up my cuties from school.

We are having thai chicken curry. Perfect for me and dh as dd is working tonight. Today is day 21 of Whole30 and I'm getting tired of cooking But it's easier then figuring out what to eat when going out and I will be able to say I didn't eat out for 30 days. Yes, we used to eat out a lot so that's a pretty big thing for me
