This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I copied and pasted my last entry from tonight since most of you probably did not get to read it.
Good evening all. Sounds like today that everyone is doing ok . I am watching ball games football and baseball. I am crazy! I plan on being in my scrap room tomorrow!
nylene-I too am slower on the Silhouette. I forget how long it took me to find the sizing slot to put in what size I wanted an element. Nuts isn't it But it has not been on long enough. If you can't find something you can go to the list at the top left and find Panels or Object and find what you need faster. Thanks for the new Fall thread! You are so kind to take the time to do that for us.
justjac I am so glad you do not have any real serious injuries. It's sad that it messed up the DH's new truck though.
grammadee I sure hope you are having a relaxing weekend. I know you are going to swim meets and hockey but hopefully you relax in between.
elayne I love your page also. You should post it in the gallery so we can leave you some love!
lisadv-hope you have a safe trip .
kellyr21 so glad to se you. I know you are A BUSY BEE, i CAN'T KEEP UP WITH YOU!
Going to close so I get done before Nylene comes to close this. Oh BTW I too would be interested in doing the Christmas Card swap or whatever it was called.

scrapincin, thanks for reposting your last comment from last month. I meant to suggest that and forgot. I sent you a couple of questions I have on the Silhouette in an email. @elaynef, I hope you post your layouts again too because I'm not sure everyone got to see them. It's a beautiful Fall day today. It rained hard this morning, but now looks clear and nice. It feels like Fall and I know winter is just around the corner. We have already had a few flakes last week. I hope you are all having some Fall weather. I'll be back later to chat.

Good evening to everyone! @ nylene , thanks for the new thread. Also great cards. I hope to leave love in the gallery later this week. scrapincin, if you enjoy the games, it's not crazy to watch. We spent the day enjoying art prize. I did forget to monitor our walking with breaks. Gabriella just can't do that much activity. At about 3 miles, she started getting sick. So we walked back toward the car, hitting some venues on the way and also getting dinner. About half way through dinner her color returned and she started feeling better. Thankfully. Here's a few samples from today. The top left is made with pennies (there was an Abraham Lincoln that DOn took the photo of that was amazing), the next is the TARDIS reproduction that was a sharing library, the middle is a flag made of bike chains, the bottom left is carved old telephone poles, the next lady is made if chicken wire and straight wire. We hope to return tomorrow after dd's dr appt. Then dd & I want to go to Hobby Lobby in the evening. Obviously we're having a good time.

Hello! I have some time to check in and can't believe last time I posted anything was March! How time flies! I hope everyone has been doing well.
I have been busy the last couple of months working on my nursing portfolio for work. I turned that in last week and have time to relax a little. I need to start next years now so I am not trying to get last minute points. I am currently a level 4 STAR nurse and going for a 5 this year. I am anxious to hear back if they accepted all my points.
In November, I am going to a weekend scrapbooking getaway with a girlfriend. I am excited but hate that DH doesn't like me going away for this particular getaway. It is only 45 minutes away but I don't have good cell service.
It is still a little warm here but getting cooler. I am wanting to start riding my bike since it is getting cooler. I have my eye on a new bicycle, a 21D Electra Townie. It has flat foot technology and I believe it will help my lower back from getting too tired and my hands from falling asleep. The color I want isn't available till later this month.
I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello all. Great to hear from you, knutschen! Congratulation on your stars! I hope you can enjoy your retreat. Dh is okay with me going a couple of times a year, but he would not be happy if it were a regular commitment. Glad you are enjoying your trip, LisaDV. Those works of art are incredible! I love your cards, nylene. Would really like to learn how to make those. I think it's awesome that you can relax and watch sports, scrapincin! I don't watch much sports, but my PVR should have a nice crop of new shows waiting for me when I get home. Have a feeling that I will need some quiet TV watching when I get there. Today was a good day. Ds & family hosted an early Canadian Thanksgiving for my dil's family. . His mil came with the turkey, and the other girls all brought dishes, so all I had to do was peel a few potatoes. They invited my other ds & family as well, so the house was full of kids having a wonderful time. Had a good time and took lots of photos so I can relive it often. The current plan is for me to drop dgs14 and dgd12 at their junior high school in the morning, then pick up coffee, and head out onto the highway. There is a wind warning for tonight and a chance of rain and snow, but that has been in the forecast since yesterday morning, and nothing has come of it yet, except for the wind. If it is too bad I will stay another night. Anyway, I need to get some sleep, so goodnight Pokeys!

nylene those cards are so awesome! LisaDV thanks for sharing those works of art. Safe travels grammadee . The weather is not co-operating at all; although, at least there's no snow here yet. scrapincin enjoy your games. I love the baseball page you did. @elaynef great pages. Thanks for sharing. I think this week is just a usual week: work, nail appointment, yoga, TOPS, and then heading to my mom's for Canadian Thanksgiving. My bruises have almost faded, and I'm feeling well. I've been taking classes this past week. I took a painting one on Thursday. I Am Enough by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr And a wreath making one on Sunday. Well, the weather decided to believe it's rep today, so I have a change of plans. Travel advisory for snow and strng winds. Both dh and ds wanted me NOT on the highway today.
Took the kids to school, printed my photos. Back at ds's acreage. Staying here again tonight. Will try the trip home tomorrow.

grammadee, I am sorry the weather is not cooperating, but so glad you are not planning to travel in it. Please be careful. Will it melt off if you wait a day or two, or is this the beginning of piling up? BTW what day is Canadian Thanksgiving? Does it change each year? justjac, I am glad your bruises are healing and that you are back to doing the millions of things you do each day. I love your painting. I love that saying...I have to remind myself of that often. Your wreath is pretty and your pages are wonderful. I'll go leave love in the gallery. I am probably the only person in the world NOT on Facebook. LOL What other classes are you taking? knutschen, Sweet Jana, we have missed you. I know you are busy with work. Congrats on your stars. I hope the journey toward #5 goes well. How are you enjoying married life? I understand about your DH not liking to have you gone. I have gone to CA during Spring Break the last few years and after a week DH and I are VERY glad to be back together. LisaDV, I love those photos you posted. I would really enjoy visiting there. I would love to see the carving from telephone poles. I hope your DD has recovered and that you are having a great time. Please be careful traveling. scrapincin, I don't know what happened to the email I sent you. Could be I didn't hit send. I will send it again. I hope I eventually get as comfortable with the new software as I was with the old. Hope you enjoy your ball games. It seems like every time I turn on the TV there is some game on..I always think of you and kellyr21. There are a lot of You Tube videos that show how to make the twist pop cards. They just take a lot of measuring and scoring unless you have a pattern that will cut on the Silhouette. I also saw a Cricut free cut video for those who have Cricuts. I have finished a couple of pages but haven't scanned them. I'll try to get to that later today. It's Alex's 5th Birthday today so we are spending the evening at their home to celebrate. Can't believe he is that old!

knutschen, I'm glad to see you checking in. Congrats on your stars! I hope you enjoy your crop. It's good to get away from the everyday and enjoy time for yourself. justjac, I quickly viewed that painting on flickr the other day and said "that's got to be Jacqueline's". I love it. Great pages about facebook as well. I hope to make it to flickr to comment later this week. grammadee, that was a good call, hope you stayed warm and dry and have safe travels today. nylene, I saw your Alex page in flickr this morning. I love and blue and yellow together. It's a great page. @elaynef, I just saw the old post on September's thread this morning. I am going to scraplift that layout. Gorgeous. We are home, I'm letting my phone charge so I can go get the dogs. Working on downloading sihouette software since the computer people could only move data and not applications. I'm hoping it fixes the problem I've been having with the library. OK, I guess I should get off of here and see what I need to get into here at home. Have a great day to all.

I thought I'd get back to post my Alex photo last night after the Birthday Party, but didn't get it done. Alex is so happy to be 5. He wanted to open presents all day, but his mom said, "After dinner." The moment he finished he wanted to to open them but mom said, "Wait until Grandma gets here." He remarked, "Why is she so late?" It's a good thing we arrived a couple of minutes later. He was dying of anticipation. Here's my layout about him. Alex 2017 by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

I am home safe and sound this evening. The first quarter of the drive had icy patches, but they were pretty predictable (around exits and under overpasses) and they could be seen from a long distance because the sun was shining. Drivers were pretty cautious, so were slowing down ahead of problem areas. The highway crews were still removing vehicles from the ditch from the day before. The rest of the road was dry and clear. Glad you are home safe as well, LisaDV. I am loving all your artwork and pages, justjac! And that Alex page is really sweet, nylene. I need to make a bd card for my dgd, but since it needs to get into the mail by tomorrow afternoon I will be using a tried and true design, but I really want to learn how to make those twist pop cards! nylene, snow at this time of the year usually melts away. Most years we don't have snow staying for the season until late October or early November. It was -9C this morning in Calgary (about 16F) but the forecast is up around 12C (above 50F) by tomorrow, so all that snow will be gone. Obviously, after that wind, the beautiful leaves are mostly gone as well. I am really happy I got to take some great shots of the kids playing in the leaves this past weekend. They are printed, and I can hardly wait to play with them. Canadian Thanksgiving is always the second Monday of October. Schools and offices usually have the day off, and many stores and businesses close as well. It is a nice fall long weekend, usually celebrated with a big family dinner. We will be joining dh's sister and her family this year, b/c our kids won't be able to make it home. I can hardly keep my eyes open, so need to crawl into my own bed soon...

This is going to be short and sweet as I have been up since 2:15 this morning. I want to let nylene and grammadee know I have joined the Falling group and I do not mean the season! I was talking to the grands at the kitchen table and started to walk away and tripped over Maggie's foot and went straight to the floor on my right side and my left knee got the worst of it. I won't even begin to tell you what it took for me to get off the floor. Anyway rigor mortis is setting in but luckily I did not break anything. I will be back later to catch up as I have rehab this morning and need to get my act together.

Oh no, scrapincin ! Glad nothing is broken, but still... Hopefully your walking session will loosen things up a bit. On Monday morning I was less afraid of driving than of walking on the ice. Believe me, I paid close attention to where I put each foot. Ps @elaynef, before I forget and the September thread gets lost, How did you make those tp roll binoculars camouflaged looking? I would love to make a set for the 5 little boys in my life!

scrapincin, oh no, I hurt for you just thinking about it. I am so afraid of falling because I know how bad the aftermath is. I'm sure you are black and blue and that everything hurts. Hugs and prayers that you will soon be feeling great again. We just can't seem to catch ourselves like we did when we were younger, right? I'm sure Maggie feels terrible. Hang in there, sweet friend. justjac, that photo is gorgeous. What a beautiful background and I love the leaves in the corners of the photo. grammadee, I'm glad you are home safe and sound. Thank you so much for organizing the Christmas/Hannakah card group. You are a sweetie. LisaDV, I hope you get your computer loaded and working well. Did you update your Silhouette software? Glad you are home again and things are OK at your home. Waving hello to kellyr21, maribeth, @elaynef, msliz, and knutschen. I know this is a busy time of year. Hugs to all. I have 3 more pages nearly finished and hope to get them ready to scan today.

Good evening Pokeys! Hope you are both feeling better, nylene and scrapincin. Loviing your LOAD pages, justjac, and looking forward to seeing your pages, nylene. I took it pretty easy today. Made a bd card for my dgd, wrapped her gift, and took them into town to put into the mail. Before I had any counter space to do the card, I finished the title page for my Fall album which I had started but not finished before I left. Then tonight, I went to town with our nephew's dw to a painting class. We don't do artsy canvasses like justjac; just stenciled signs. Here is my card. It was fun doing a girly project with bits and bobs from my stash: Hey birthday girl2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr For my page, I had already done the stamping last week and chosen the metallic copper printed pp, but it didn't come together for me until I came home with some BoBunny double dot cs from a few years ago that I found in a LSS that tends to stock older lines. It's from a girls' weekend I went on in June. The superhero flair are courtesy of grammadee . She lent me a package and then I lost them before I could return them. Happy Thursday! Hope you all are having a good day so far! I will be absent some this month and maybe next month and I will still pop in when I can. I am ok, just trying to get my Christmas projects ready for our business. I finally got all my supplies and been working on several projects. I even ordered just for fun that Anna Griffin Christmas shaker card kit on HSN the other day. So I am in full Christmas mode already. nylene - Thanks for keeping our thread going! Those box cards are so cute! scrapincin - Oh Cindy! I am so glad your fall was minor and you are ok. Take it easy cause you got lots of games to cheer for. justjac - You are scrappin away! You pages and art look good. LisaDV - What a fun trip to the art place. I have never seen creations like that. Cool! grammadee - I didn't know you all had a Canadian Thanksgiving this soon. How fun you all had a great time. Also, thanks for the card exchange idea. What is the time frame to send our cards, December?

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! This is a long weekend here in Canada: Thanksgiving for us. Not that a long weekend really means much to a retired couple. Especially since none of the "kids" will be home to celebrate with us this year. We are invited to our niece's home Sunday for turkey, so it's all good! Do you have a long weekend now too? Yesterday I made a huge pot of soup and baked a loaf in my new breadmaker (the old one quit a couple of weeks ago, and dh went straight to town to get another: he does like his "home made" bread!) Also still working on getting all the root veggies prepped for storage. Dh went to town for coffee this morning. While he was gone I finished up my October calendar page I started yesterday evening. Not sure if I will get anything else crafty done today. I need to work on prepping for a couple of presentations for NEXT weekend. Have been looking on my computer and on line for info and handouts I may be able to use. Anyway, here is my page: October 18 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have an excellent weekend (long or otherwise)!

How did the pajama pants come out? grammadee , I love that October page. I especially love the stenciled leaves. Gorgeous. kellyr21 , I am glad you are excited about getting your shop up and running. Can't wait to see what you are making. justjac , do you do LOAD every month? I don't know how you keep it up. Wishing all our Canadian Pokeys a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving on Monday.

Nylene, such a pretty girl. Love that red hair! I have #1 dd and her husband here this weekend.....they have gone to bed early after a long trip and a long 2 weeks. So sweet of them to come even when I know they were too tired. I have already pulled out scrapbooks to show them an Arkansas train trip that they are going on next week that we went on years ago. Since we are thinking about our Christmas cards, I thought I would show you our very first picture Christmas card from 1968. I pulled it out thinking of possibly putting it on a layout for our 50th anniversary and realized it might be the last one so I got dh to scan it for me so I could print some more if I needed to. That is the dd that is visiting us today.

You are welcome to lift this page. Would love to see what you create!
