Greetings, ladies. I've been missing you all and all of the other peas. I've had a computer issue, keeping me off the boards, which seems to be resolved now.
I've been doing my usual bargain hunting and have found some great things while I've been off the boards.
I didn't get to go my usual auction house the last two weeks. My sister did bring me to another auction house last week and it was pretty interesting. I didn't buy anything but had a good time anyway. They are definitely more professional and better run than the one we usually go to. The only drawbacks are the buyers premium and the long drive.
One of the kids needs the computer right now, but I'll be back tomorrow!
What have you found lately?

My mom and I went to our local flea market. It's a pretty nice one. We went just to wander. I was good until the very end. Early on I got 12 strawberry buttons for $1 that I got for some dresses I'm working on for my daughter. Then $5 for a teacup to match another one that I have. I was sort of looking for American Girl dolls for my 6-year-old. Previous flea markets multiple people have had them. This time there was only one. She wanted $60 or more per doll, she was selling them for her sister that wasn't there. So I went back at the end and offered $100 for two - Kirsten and Felicity - both retired and hard to find - she said yes. I'll have to take them into the local American Girl store to get their hair fixed, but they are both hard to find so I'm happy with the purchase!

I won two auctions for Lego minifigures at shopgoodwill, I really meant to only win 1, but I bid on two to be sure and won them both, pleasantly they were from the same bidder so they combined shipping. It's funny because I thick I like them just as much as my kids :-) I have a friend and she's going to split them with me for her grandson, so it's been fun putting together accessories for him while completing some missing parts I have. I finally decided to put all the Harry potter ones I've found together since my son keeps taking them apart and losing parts, so I put all those away for when he can appreciate Harry potter characters :-)

Hi all! So Friday night at my favorite auction I picked up an anchor for my DS's kayak. He goes it weighs too much. I'm like it will buff up your muscles if you row with an extra 15 lbs! Suck it up kid!
I also picked him up a Xbox. Had a couple games, brand new extra controller etc. He thought a good deal. Well naturally a couple days later he sees a posting on Craigslist for someone only $25 more and it came with like 40 games. Ugh. Granted there was no way of knowing it would be posted. I should be glad he was happy.... at first!
Then at my usual auction I only picked up a few things. A HUGE wooden rocking chair for $4. Definitely not your average size chair. I couldn't resist for that price. I also picked up 3 plastic storage bins for $1. One of them is huge. I want to slowly move all my tag sale stuff into the plastic bins, easier to store/stack. Also for $1 I picked up a card table which was in great shape. It came with a 2-piece wooden circle that fits over the table so if you want a round table. Can never have enough tables for tag sales or anything else at home (dessert table etc)
Also picked up a couple glass covered containers in a great orangey/red color. Just something about them appealed to me. They remind you of a canister.

So glad to see you posting again eastcoastpea ! Was beginning to get a bit worried about you. Hope the computer stays fixed and you are around a bit more now! I've had a busy month, but have managed to get to my regular thrift stores a couple of times. Normally I just stick to the craft/fabric and accessories sections, but for some reason I decided to check out the photo album section at one of the stores. Came home with 3 brand new, handmade photo albums/baby books - for just $3 each! One is by Kata Golda, while the other two are by Molly West. Both of those are new in the original boxes. Such nice albums! Haven't decided if I will list them on eBay or reserve for baby gifts. They would be very nice gifts. There hasn't been much in the crafts areas lately, but did pick up some new felt stocking kits and a needlepoint kit. Those are listed, but things have been slow on eBay. One of the reasons I'm trying not to pick up very much at the stores unless it is for myself or my gift drawer. My biggest find was yesterday - at the grocery store of all places! They say timing is everything and it sure was in this case. Had just arrived and noticed a stock boy dumping boxes of things from the kitchen department into a sale bin. He said they had just reset that department and were clearing out the old stuff. It was an assortment of stuff, but the biggest deal was Tervis tumblers for just $2 each! I came home with 8 of the 24 oz. tumblers and 8 of the 16 oz tumblers! Also got the Microplane Ginger Tools for just $1/each, and a Taylor Pro Digital Thermometer Probe for just $1. There was also an assortment of the double walled stainless steel water bottles for just $2/each. I bought 5 of those. Also they had some really cute Texas themed cookie cutters for just 10¢ each. All told, I spent a total of $50 on the sale items. When I checked out, the cashier (and my receipt) said I had saved $435!!! My gift drawer now runneth over. I plan to use my new Silhouette to make some vinyl decals for the water bottles. The tumblers will be great gifts during the year, especially when a secret sister swap comes up. They can be filled with treats and make a nice gift, while staying under budget. To appease DH, I will probably list a few of the tumblers on eBay to cover my costs. Otherwise, I'm set for gift giving for a while! Plan to visit an estate sale a few streets over this afternoon. Otherwise, things have been slow on the garage sale & estate sale circuit since Hurricane Harvey. I'm using the lull to go through and list stuff I've been collecting from the stores, as well as from clearing out closets. I'm hosting an event on Nov 21, so really need to get this stuff cleared out of my study ASAP! ETA: I think they wised up on the Tervis cups. Was at the grocery this week and while they still have a few in the sale bin, they are now marked $8. Glad I got mine when I did!

I stopped at a church yard sale for their youth program. I was on my way to a wedding I was directing and could not shop at leisure. I found 2 vintage tupperware bowls with center push lids, an old lunch tray, Dept 56 skating pond in the box and 5 dept 56 accessories in the box for snow village set. All of this for $10. Must support the kids:) DD and SIL have Dickens village and they loved it.

I made the rounds of the thrift stores last Thursday to do some sourcing for my Etsy shop. I didn't find much, but I couldn't resist this handmade christening gown. My boys all wore the same christening gown that I did and I hope my grandchildren will wear it, too. So I'm not sure why I bought this, but it is simply gorgeous. It is machine-sewn, but obviously sewn with love by someone. There are no labels in it. It was hanging on the wall in the baby section of the Hospice thrift store and caught my eye right as I walked in the door. And the best part? It was all of $6 to take it home with me. It may just have to hang in my office for me to admire for a while! Lol.

Recently I found some sizzix dies and stampin up stamps. I only bought what I'd use but it looked like a scrapbooker cleaned out her room and donated!

Just did a run of thrift stores today that I only visit every couple of months. Stores #1 and #3 were busts, with nothing exciting to bring home. Store #2 had some good finds though, and none of it what I normally look for! First thing I found was a double bobbin boat shuttle for weaving. I'm hoping to dust off my loom after the holidays and this is a boat shuttle that I don't have. They normally sell for $50 or more, so I was happy to pay just $28 for this one. It's very pretty too!
Checking out the clearance shelves I discovered a large Fitz & Floyd teapot for just $2.75. I have gone over it several times and can't find a thing wrong with it. Also picked up a new in box, Kate Spade lacquer box in a bright red. It was a bit pricey at $18, but will be a nice addition to my gift drawer. The last find was a vintage men's Coogi sweater. Seems it is a popular brand on eBay, so I will get that listed later this week.
No estate sales or garage sales of note this weekend so I plan to stay home and focus on listing as much of my eBay stash as possible. Next week is Quilt Festival so no listing will be happening then!

I went to France yesterday to hit a few Trocs and thrift stores. I finally found some trench art from WWI and a vintage picture depicting a US serviceman in the Phillipinnes from early 1900. I picked the trench art up for €7 which was a steal! These things usually go for between €75-150 when I see them at the vendors tents at the PX. I’ve been on the hunt for the trench art and it has been getting very hard to find as the Americans in Europe snap it up quickly as do the antique dealers that sell to Americans. Huge find!
For those that are unfamiliar with trench art it is big brass shells from artillery that servicemen in WWI would engrave/emboss in between battles in WWI. They would typically do it while sheltering in the trenches in France and Belgium. They are usually engraved on the bottom what battle and year.

Just got some books at the thrift shop, all like new for $2-each, one was Lisa Loeb and children's music with the cd, one was a fraggle rock comic book anthology and one my son picked out, migloo's weekend. I also saw, but did not buy a picture book by Neil Gaiman. I enjoyed the same man, but am not sure who this take was for, it was so dark and scary looking it certainly could not have been for small children, so I'm assuming it's a picture book for adults or teens or something, I thought it too dark for the little ones.
