No/Lo Challenge Oct 6, 2017 Hello, another SC Refugee here, some of you asked if I would come to 2Peas, so I did. I hope you decide to follow along with the weekly challenges or comment on the thread. Check-In: No spending this week. This week was all about manual labour. Moving furniture from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor and more furniture from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor. Still working on it, but it feels good to freshen things up. Organization Challenge: Downloading all my digital files and classes from Studio Calico, just in case. Scrapbook/PP/Card challenge Create a Love Hate List project. Stashbusting: Use some of your love/valentine products on your project. Bonus points: Use bullet lists, checkmarks, or numbered lists Color combo: see attached.

Hi and welcome! I didn't hang out on the boards at SC a lot, but I recognize your name from there. Do you mind explaining a little bit about what the No/Lo is all about? Thank you!

Hi quinmm14, Thank you for the welcome. I decided to commit to some personal goals for 2017 and beyond. Goal #1 Stop spending and start scrapping (sometimes this works, sometimes I fail and I'm okay with that ) Goal #2 Motivate myself and others, along the way, to scrap. Goal #3 Commit to a weekly challenge for minimum 1 year. Usually posted on Friday, although I sometimes post early. So basically, I check-in about my spending & my week. I offer an organizational challenge, a "project" challenge that can be done as a layout, a pocket page spread or a card or a journal page (whatever you're into) Bonus points (no actual points) for using certain elements, color combos, etc on your project to help us stashbust. Some people, only check-in and others post their projects to the thread (that was at Studio Calico), now I will try to maintain the weekly challenges here & on Facebook. EVERYONE IS WELCOME including Mandy1632, who often participated while No/Lo was at Studio Calico. It will be nice to be able to discuss any products, stores or other and not to have to worry about stepping on Studio Calico's TOU. SaveSave

Welcome welcome! I recognize you from SC (although I haven't posted there much since things got quiet/I started hanging out here) and I'm glad to see you over here. And all the other SC refugees who I hope are going to follow too That organization challenge sounds like a good idea... maybe not a bad idea for everyone to do from time to time considering how suddenly these crafty places can close up shop. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and I hope that you find a good home for your challenge here and/or on Fbk.

I've been working on organizing my digital files all morning, and my eyes are going buggy on me

I made ink swatches this weekend. I also finished getting all my stamps into Evernote. It's a process!

Do you keep together? Do you have printed out image list of your files? Do you keep kit together or split by type? i.e. brush files, cut files, etc. lisacharlotte How are you making you ink swatches? I started putting my files in Evernote, then I forgot how I was organizing them... so obviously not a good method, back to the drawing board for me.

whambampam There is a thread somewhere here about using Evernote. I pulled a screenshot of each stamp set i have to include and tagged any word, icon, picture in the stamp set. Then when you're looking for something you just search the tags. Eventually i will also have physical stamp samples because sometimes size matters. 😁 My ink swatches I used Jennifer Maguire's swatch templates. She has all the most popular lines and last updated in April. I used a solid cloud stamp for my swatches. Now i have a nice sample for when I'm looking for a color. It also showed me that i don't have one decent orange ink pad in my stash.

Hi whambampam! I didn't ever subscribe or post at SC. Just used to use the gallery and boards for ideas if I picked up a kit here or there. Then after the brouhaha of a few years ago, I found this place and have been here ever since.

I love using Evernote for cataloging dies, stamps, punches and inks. I've also entered all my paper collections. It's kept me from purchasing doubles several times since I've started using it. When I place an online order, I go look for the image as soon as possible and then by the time I have my things it's already done.

Hi there! Didn't spend much this week...$5 kits from SC (that I'm going to cancel ASAP). I too am downloading my digital scrapbook from m SC. I'm considering also canceling my stamp sub and stepping away from the madness!

Hi and welcome whambampam - good to see your challenge on the board. I had the same username at SC. I'm on a low spend mission - apart from my Cocoa Daisy sub really trying to cut back as I have so much in my stash. I'm another one who uses Evernote for cataloguing stamps and dies - a bit of a pain to set up originally but I love being able to search for tags and see at a glance which stamps I already own.

Great challenge! I spent yesterday evening downloading all my digi supplies from SC and got started on downloading classes (after I found an extension/plug-in that worked for me). I also downloaded some old classes from BPC (the ones that didn't transition after the Inked takeover and we were sent links to the videos). Those links expire at the end of this year, and I had a few left to snag.
I think my challenge for next month should be to complete at least one of those classes!
I'm not doing so well on spending - Elle's Studio got me this month. I have vowed to myself to not eat out for lunch this week as a small offset. We'll see what next week brings!

joelaw What code did you use for the $5/kit? It's hard to walk away the stamp kit is so good this month. anniefb Hello Annie, I will give Evernote another try, I am just an inconsistently consistent person. I can't take a break from it or I forget what I did or how I did it & then I always feel like I need to "start fresh" you know? cbscrapper I am using that extension/plugin too, but it wants to install something else, otherwise I'm getting .ogg files? Working on it I need to go look around the how-to's a bit. I don't know if I need to start a new thread for Friday's (Oct 13th) No/Lo or if I just continue on this one. I need to check out how other challenges are set up here. Also, I don't know if we can private message each other here, etc... So much to learn :-P

If you click on someone's username you'll find the option on the right hand side of their profile info. Welcome to the boards.
