I have a house on the market. The realtor keeps telling me that the local Board of Realtors does not have an agreement with Zillow to post listings.
I call bullshit because there are houses on Zillow that are not fsbo (which is how he says I'd have to list my house on Zillow).
Other than being a liar lying out his liehole, is there any way his statement could be tr

I'm not an Ohio realtor, but did use a Zillow realtor when we bought our current home. IIRC, I had to sign up with Zillow to see their information (it was 10 years ago so memory might not be correct). A realtor was assigned to me based on our location. There is competition between Zillow and each local MLS group, so very possible that your local MLS has chosen not to share information with Zillow.
If you are seeing other listings for your city on Zillow I'd question your realtor.

He may not be lying. Our local area has two MLSs. One participates in the IDX exchange, which is how the listings get on Zillow, and the other does not. All the oldie goldie agents who sell two of their friends houses a year participate in the one who doesn't participate in the IDX. Agents who take their job more seriously obviously participate in the more popular, up to date MLS. It's an important question to ask your realtor in my area but not something you would necessarily know about unless you ask how they plan to market your property.
If you feel comfortable messaging me info about your location, I can do some checking and give an opinion.

When you list your home FSBO on Zillow, the emails requests you expect to receive actually go to local realtors who pay for view clicks. I was so angry, within five minutes of creating a fake inquiry I received a phone call from a local mortgage lender and two emails from local agents.
If you list with a realtor, once they post the MLS, Zillow with have the listing in less than 24 hours.

Long story short, it's basically true. What brokerage is he with? Our local board of realtors does not have a co-op agreement with Zillow any longer so our listings do not automatically syndicate to Zillow. (Zillow sucks, IMO.) But my national brokerage does have a co-op with Zillow so I can still get my listings on Zillow.

One of my friends is a realtor in Ohio and he pays Zillow to list his homes.
