Welcome to No/Lo. I decided to create weekly challenges to motivate & inspire myself & others to stop shopping (or shop mindfully) and start crafting. You do not have to post a project to participate in No/Lo. You can just check-in about your week, spending or otherwise & know that someone is listening. You can confess your shopping “sins” if you like Yes, for sure, you can post your projects here! So, I am tagging everyone who commented last week, let me know if you want to be tagged or if this intrusive for you. This is what I did it at Studio Calico, but this is a new start, so let me know. @anmore anniefb cat2007 cbscrapper Chinagirl828 hutchfan joblackford joelaw kiwikate lasteve1 lakritze lemonella linda lisacharlotte @mamaofdudes mom msliz myboysnme nicolep pinksoup @quinmm14 samncam stinkerbelle @tapatalk @zingermack CHECK-IN: No spending this week. Cleared off my desk (once again) & laid out my 2016 DD album. It needs some tweaking, pictures I never printed, journaling, etc. ORGANIZATION CHALLENGE: Albums & page protectors. Do you have extra empty albums, extra page protectors? How are you storing them? A method that works for me, is to have my page protectors in an empty album by size / design i.e. 4x6, 5x7, 6x8, 9x12, 12x12 & design A, B, C, D, etc… you get the idea. PROJECT CHALLENGE: So, obviously this challenge was handed to me. Make a project about Friday the 13th or other phobias! Do you take extra care? Are you luckier than usual? Do you have triskaidekaphonia or any other phobias? CARDMAKERS: Make a card featuring a phobia i.e. spiders, 13, snakes, clausterphobia, etc... BONUS POINTS: Use 2 cardstock, 4 patterned paper, stickers &/or enamel shapes. COLOR COMBO: see picture.

Thanks whambampam. No spending for me this week, though I have to admit I was a bit tempted by a couple of things in the Concord & 9th release. I have a couple of albums in my craft room filled with page protectors but the others are empty and in a cupboard and the pages protectors are in a stack in a drawer. I like your idea of storing them in folders instead. It's 5pm on Fri 13th here in New Zealand and I'm just in my way home from work, ready to enjoy the weekend

Thanks for bringing your challenge here. I'd seen it on the rare occasion I read the SC boards but never really knew what it was about. I'm not fussed either way if you tag me - I'm here most days even if I don't post so I'll always find it.
I'm officially putting myself on a spending diet. I placed two orders last weekend, one of them arrived yesterday. I have so many new things that they no longer fit in the space I have available for new things on my desk.
I finish work earlier on Fridays so I'm home and have already started playing with pretty paper. I'm working on some pages with my kit from the build your own kit challenge here.

I bought some cards/envelopes so I can make thank you cards after our wedding. I do need to buy gold ink. I thought I had some already. I also picked up a 5 dollar paper pad. My spare albums and page protectors are in a cabinet in my scrap room. I have 3 cabinets that I need to organize. Hoping to scrap next week, getting married tomorrow so that is taking up all my time lol. I'm so excited:) I really love that color combo and thanks for posting this challenge!

Thank you for including me. I have a question: do I HAVE to use the color combo? I'm only asking because I've never done a challenge before, believe it or not.
I'm still on my spending freeze so that's good.
I store my page protectors in the packaging that they come in however I like whambampam ideas of putting them into albums. I might have to try that.
I also don't have any spare albums laying around. I buy them as I need them.
Happy wedding day dasmith2!

dasmith2 Best Wishes for your wedding! cat2007 The color combo is completely optional. Just a suggestion to free people from having to make an extra decision before getting to the actual crafting 😉

Congratulations on your wedding, dasmith2! I keep my page protectors on a shelf in my scraproom. I am running low on the 12x12 ones and need to restock. My CTMH rep is no longer selling it, so I need to find another source of full size protectors big and strong enough to hold my layered pages. The PL ones are in a binder, separated into different orientations/divisions. Not on a freeze right now, but I am busy using up lots of pieces of old kits and christmas card leftovers from years past. I use the monthly challenges set here by Chinagirl828, KikiPea, dasmith2, and DawnMcD to keep me inspired, and will check out yours, whambampam each week as well. Love your colour combo.

Happy wedding dasmith2 ! I'll participate but don't really need the tag - I'm always here Hope it's OK with everyone that I talk about my business here, because that's where I need to watch my spending. My Etsy business is a rather broke (again) and I'm overwhelmed by cards right now - I have a lot of inventory that I'm trying to keep organized, and I need to STOP making so many cards until I sell some more (and especially need to stop buying supplies to make cards until I have some more sales). I had a coupon and I needed card bases for Christmas exchange cards (I already have the cut-aparts cut apart and ready, so I just needed something to stick them to) so I stocked up on all the bases I need and then kept on walking past all the pretty things. Of course I also knew that I had an online order coming in - a very cute CTMH Christmas scrapbook kit that I'm going to use to make cards, enabled/inspired by Jess Crafts on YT. This weekend I'm going to channel my crafting energy into finishing the projects I already have going, then tidying up, and then working on my journal, which is my sort-of-PL, which is very neglected and needs a major re-boot. I have page protectors, even though I've not had any need/desire to use a page protector in about 2 years. I thought I was going to do KP-style 6x12 PL and so I bought a gorgeous aqua album (a closeout special) and protectors for a year. But then I accidentally bent one of the rings on the album so it won't close properly any more and I also realized I sort of hate plastic page protectors. So I'm telling myself I'm "storing spare page protectors" in that album, but really I'm just sad that I wasted money and ruined something beautiful and probably should either commit to using it in its broken state, start looking for a replacement OR just donate/give away the whole thing and forget about it.

I think I am going to move the page protectors to an album <---- that I already have.
Debating on whether I need adhesive. Other than that I have everything I could possibly need.
If all goes well I'll be back in my room tonight.....

This week I organized my Kiwi Lane Templates and I will be doing some stamp organizing. Tonight is craft night at church so maybe I can make a Friday the 13th layout. Thanks for sharing your challenge. And dasmith2 congratulations on your wedding!

dasmith2 , congrats! I hope you had a blast and had lots of great photos taken. I was a no spend this week. I finished a couple of digital layouts and laid out a traditional layout on my desk that I keep staring at. I keep hoping to get more accomplished, but it's eluding me at the moment. There's always next week. whambampam, thanks for starting this challenge.

No spend for me. I am rid of all my subs and I have no other orders coming. Time to use my stash! I keep my 12x12 page protectors in the box they came in, on my shelf beside the albums. My 6x8 page protectors are housed in an old WITL album that arrived bent (they replaced the album for me so the bent one was extra). Happy wedding day dasmith2! I have two friends coming over today and we are going to scrap all day. I’m looking forward to getting some pages done!

whambampam thanks for starting this here! I was very bad this week. I signed up for the Merry Making class at Online Card Classes on Monday, and yesterday I placed my first order at Simon Says Stamp for some stamps and ink I just had to have. My new craft room is still in the works (we moved 2 weeks ago, and about half of the furniture still needs to be assembled), so I've only been making cards lately. It looks like I'll have lots of room for storage so I can't wait to start putting stuff away. I bought a bunch of new albums from Michaels online right before moving because they were priced cheap, so I will be all set for a while. I keep my protectors in an empty album (or just at the back of the PL album I have on hand before it gets too full), except for the big pack of Design A PL pages which stay in their original box. Happy wedding day dasmith2!

Thanks for posting the challenge here whambampam For years I've stored my pp in an unused album but I noticed that if you don't use a certain type for a long time they actually get dusty/smeary inside I'm now looking for a new way to store them. I think I might use the Becky Higgins pp boxes in the future (but just need to empty one - lol). Now, if someone has an idea on how to clean the inside of a pocket page pp - I already tried a cleaning cloth for glasses and it works but it's very time consuming... Oh and I almost forgot I'm not planning on spending any money on craft supplies this week, but I still have two orders coming from last week (AE and a stamp set I wanted to get for a long time and always postponed to order but was reminded of it by comment from someone here on the boards ) Happy wedding from me too dasmith2 !

congratulations on your wedding, dasmith2!! this is a fun challenge! I need a low spend / no spend challenge to keep myself honest- I did a lot of impulse spending over the summer, and now I need to use all those supplies. I haven't actually done any scrapping lately, but I did a couple crafty projects recently- (they were kids' craft projects from Michaels, for Halloween, that I bought a couple weeks ago for 40-60% off). One of them was 6 cardboard Dia de los Muertos masks that came with stickers and some sequins in the kit. And then I added LOTS more of my own sequins and Stickles glitter glue to them from my stash. I'm going to string them together into a garland and hang them outside the front door, I think. The second project was one of those 3D kits from Michaels that's all made of craft foam, for a cute little haunted house with a vampire, a witch, some bats, and a dead tree behind it. The foam pieces all had notches and cut-outs so they all fit together without glue, but it was a bit more of a pain than I thought it would be. It did turn out really cute, though! I store my page protectors in a 12x12 3-ring album that had to be repaired so I can't use it for photos. They do sag a little bit, but it seems to be easiest to get them out of it rather than in a 12x12 Iris case. I did just start working on Christmas cards for my own cards and for the NSBR swap: so far I got two Christmas stamp sets from Goodwill, I found three or four easy-to-assemble card ideas from Pinterest, and I just pulled together a pile of patterned papers to use from my stash. Now I need to start the cardmaking assembly line: cutting and folding card blanks, cutting the patterned papers, stamping and coloring the images, and then assembling. I think I'll probably make at least 4 or 5 different designs so I don't get too bored, but I need to get started on them so I can get them made in plenty of time. I also want to edit and send another order of at least 100 photos to Costco, but the process of editing and uploading photos is sooo tedious!!

grammadee Thanks for the mentions of the other challenges, I just dove right in here & haven't really looked around at all. I checked out one thread & there was some bashing of one person going on, almost turned me off bringing my thread here. But I have plenty of "love" to go around so... here I am. crimsoncat05 I completely agree, photo editing takes forever. Sometimes I hear Ali Edwards mention it took her a few hours to get all of her's done & I must admit, I get a little jealous kaybree michellegb cristinac Happy to see my old SC peeps here! Feeling good that so many regular Peas are participating too, looking forward to getting to know everyone. LisaDV Thank you for the welcome. All of you thank you for making me feel Peafectly welcome. I am just now checking in...
I didn't purchase anything last week. I was tempted by Ali's chipboard bundle but the reality is I don't need 7 sets of Christmas chipboard.
Sadly, I didn't complete any of the posted challenges, but I did pull out my PL album + print photos from June-Sept. I am finishing up my May spread(s) - there are a bunch since my son graduated that month.

Seriously, not trying to enable but before I bought the chipboard bundle I tried to see what I could use on a regular layout (PL spread in my case). I love her chipboard! This is what I figured out lol. Now, yes...the chip that has the word 'December' would have to be used on a December spread"(Christmas or any December holiday, birthday etc) but that's easy enough for me. Anything without the yellow dot is something I can use outside of Christmas only.

I'm still working on the previous challenge of downloading my SC class videos. I already downloaded all my SC digi files and BPC classes. I stored my pocket page protectors in a 12x12 album, but that didn't really work for me. Now I store them in a Paper Folio from Hobby Lobby that has expandable pockets so I can sort the styles. This works so much better for me to flip through and find what I need! www.hobbylobby.com/Scrapbook-Paper-Crafts/Storage-Organization/12-x-12-Frosted-Paperfolio/p/20473For purchases, I was bad this past week - bought some Elle's Studio and then picked up some things on super clearance at Hobby Lobby (thickers, minc supplies, wood veneer), and snagged a Peachy Cheap deal. My plan is no spending this week and get some actual creating done!

Check in: Started prepping a JYC album w/stuff I already had - an old WRMK album and a FJ kit I got a few months back. Thanks to the DD Prepping thread, I got so many great ideas, I didn't feel the need to buy anything new. Just going to use my stamps, punches, etc. I'm really excited to be starting! Thanks whambampam ETA: I'm using this prompt list from Amy Sorensen: amysorensen.typepad.com/files/31-childhood-christmas-journaling-prompts.pdf

@zingermack What is JYC? and you're welcome SaveSorry. "Journal Your Christmas". It's kinda like December Daily but w/o the "daily" aspect. You can just joural your current Christmas/Holiday or past ones, etc. I don't like the "daily" format, but I do want to have a December memories album.

Thanks for tagging me whambampam. I am on here a lot so probably don't need to be tagged (I am fine either way). Check in: I didn't spend anything last week so that was good. I have all my page protectors stored in one of the pizza boxes from Studio Calico. But maybe I'll move them to an empty album like you guys are doing. No projects for me this week - like some of you, I need to upload/get photos printed first.
