"Journalist who exposed Malta's links to offshore tax havens in Panama Papers scandal killed by car bomb." "A Maltese investigative journalist who exposed the island nation's links to offshore tax havens through the leaked Panama Papers was killed Monday when a bomb exploded in her car, the prime minister said. Daphne Caruana Galizia, 53, had just driven away from her home in Mosta, a large town on Malta's main island, when the bomb went off, sending the vehicle's wreckage spiraling over a wall and into a field, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said." Wealth doesn't take kindly to exposure or to not running the show. Journalists are the often unsung heroes of our civilization. Putting themselves in harms way to ferret out corruption, with no armor. apnews.com/eec3f8b5b9274e7e8e7545136b809c94/Bomb-kills-reporter-who-covered-Malta's-'Panama-Papers'-link

I just saw this! We need journalists who are brave and determined enough to dig for those stories.

Jeez, that is an outrage. Journalism can be a dangerous business.

Jeez, that is an outrage. Journalism can be a dangerous business. And their sacrifice often goes unsung, unheralded. Imo, they are heroes, along with the military and the courts. If journalists don't expose corruption, it can flourish. If they do, they are often putting their life on the line to expose powerful people to be held to account. Like Veronica Guerin
