I've only used Everpure since it's available in my grocery store. The lack of sulfates really helps keep my hair from getting super greasy in one day. Before i switched i always had to wash daily. Not sure how much it's helped maintain my color since my hair colors well (even red).

I'm not a fan or pureology. I really tried to like. And maybe it was the one I bought (which was reviving red) , because I did have a sample/ travel size of the hydrate that I took on vacation and it was decent.
I use all the everpure's right now and actually really like them for the price point.

I used them both. I like Pureology better but the difference wasn’t that much that I felt I needed to spend the money anymore so I switched to L’Oréal.

Not to hijack - but had anyone heard that Costco shampoo is made by Purology?

(I know it's not what you asked, but...) I've only used Pureology. My fine hair tends towards the oily (like, if I don't wash it every day, I'd better not plan on it looking good but it works for housecleaning in a ponytail). Pureology (the hydrating one, don't remember the specific name) actually really dried it out and did leave it very straw-ish.

I've used both and I prefer the L'Oreal brand. It doesn't leave my hair feeling like straw. I have oily hair after 2 days so I wash every other day. I had this same experience with Pureology. I also prefer how Everpure feels when working it into my hair. It just seems easier to work with. I've used Everpure for a long time.

I have used both. I really wanted to like Everpure, and, it didn’t even compare to Pureology for me. I really am not a product snob—I hate like heck to pay so much for Pureology, but, it really does make the biggest difference in my hair. I am really surprised that people have experienced drying with Pureology. It makes my hair so, so soft...and, at the same time, extends the time I can go between shampoos. I just went through about a 6!month period where I tried every other shampoo under the sun looking for a substitute, and I just went back to Pureology about 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t be happier!!

Erin Yes, I feel the same as you--so shocked people experienced such drying with Pureology. It probably depends a lot on hairtype too.

I've sampled & disliked both for the same reason: They made my thick, frizzy-prone, color-treated hair feel & look greasy!

everpure is not actually sulfate free, despite what the bottles claim. it contains sodium lauryl sulfoacetate. we rainbow hair people need to use good, legit sulfate-free shampoos to keep our color, and most people are big fans of the Shea Moisture line. it's available pretty much everywhere now- walmart, drug stores, etc. you might have to experiment with which variety works best for you, some are heavier than others.

wow, talk about timing. I just posted about looking for a good oily hair shampoo for DD, 11.
I'm going to look for this shampoo, sounds like it's for controlling oil?
And I can't tell by this thread CostCo carries this?
