Natasha De Alencar released this audio tape of her call from Trump. Phone call to widow of fallen soldierNow I'm sure the typical Trump haters will find something wrong with this phone call but I think it was a beautiful gesture and that this widow was anything but offended by Trump's words.

You do realize this is not the phone call in question right?

No. I didn't. But even so, give the man some credit for "this" phone call.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
ETA: finding a decent phone call from months ago doesn't negate everything he's said and done every single day since then.

You do realize this is not the phone call in question right? It's really hard to take someone seriously when they post links thinking they know what it's about, and they actually don't.

No. I didn't. But even so, give the man some credit for "this" phone call. I'd like to, but I can't bring myself to listen to it. And frankly I'm still stuck on the fact that the current POTUS thinks there is a competition with prior administrations about consoling the families of the fallen that he is winning. I'd rather the focus was on the fallen, not he said, she said. thefallen.militarytimes.com/

No, says the person who posted something positive about Trump knowing fully that the typical people will find something negative to say. Sort of like what you're doing now.

That sounds suspiciously like "what difference does it make." Also, apparently people who post about Trump daily here care quite a bit. Although oddly I haven't seen anything lately about how the unemployment rate is the lowest it's been since 1973 and how the Dow and S&P have consistently hit higher and higher records. So maybe you're right, it's no big deal.

Oh don't be sill Burning Feather; I'm sure they'll tell you that it's fake news or if they acknowledge it as real news, they'll claim it has nothing to do with Trump. Because they'd sooner eat red-hot nails than acknowledge anything positive about Trump.

I said nothing negative, I stated the truth. I called you on your typical bullshit behavior. You want to take the truth and turn it into a negative, so be it. You would have been the first person in line to pile on someone else posting old news without checking the source, but for you it's OK. Again, typical of your MO.

So while I am pleased that no one messed this part up, I have to wonder if all of the things in play from the last 8 years made this possible.

Really, point out where I've been the first to jump on someone posting old news. Even one.
If you can't (and I know you can't) take your own Bullshit behavior and stuff it.

Can someone fill me in, did he call her twice? She recorded the call herself?

Can someone fill me in, did he call her twice? She recorded the call herself? apparently the audio in the OP is NOT the phone call from a few days ago, it's from some previous phone call to a totally different person. So it's not relevant right at the moment.

I am not a Trumper, and actually I think he is the worst President. As someone who has experienced death of a close family member, I do remember at times, the things people said that made me wince inside. I think that in trying to be consoling, people fumble for words to say. In addition, what might make me wince wouldn't even register with someone else.
However, for him to deny what was said (even though it didn't come across as he intended) and he did say that, is what has created the shitstorm. He provokes fights when none needs to exist. This is an argument that he will NEVER WIN, but he is incapable of acknowledging his own deficiencies.
What he should have said was "I apologize to the family if my words caused them any distress. That was not my intent and I sincerely apologize". PERIOD!!!
ETA: Argghh, I've started doing the Trump "all caps and exclamation points!"

So maybe you're right, it's no big deal. Well your stinging response might carry more weight if the unemployment rate and stock market had been close to what it was in 2010 when President Obama left office this past January. But that was not the case now was it. The only reason the stock market is as high as it is today is not from any real economic growth but because of the anticipated tax cuts. And the sad truth is the high stock market and tax cuts rarely translate into the jobs that are needed and where they are needed like the rust belt states. As to jobs, did you not notice that number of new jobs created, even prior to the hurricanes, have been below the number of jobs created during the same period in President Obama’s last year in office? I guess these pesky little details were forgotten when you made your stinging response.

So maybe you're right, it's no big deal. Unemployment was lower in the early 2000s than it was in 1973, but ok. Yes, unemployment is very low right now. It's been trending downward since late 2009. Thanks, Trump!

If he had made that apology, I could have appreciated the difficulty of making those phone calls. But no, had to lie and use dead service members as a way to score points and "win". He's disgusting.

well, he never does anything wrong, so no apologies needed. ever. Didn't he say something like that, once? (something about going to Confession, perhaps? it seems like I did actually hear that.)
